Damn, the similarities are evident. Dude has a look in his eyes that say that he really doesn't care about the consequences.

This is some real Cain and Abel ish.  How do you kill your younger brother like that? I know they can be annoying, but to end his life is to say that you have no compassion for family.

Andrew Conley, Indiana teen who allegedly murdered brother, inspired by television show ‘Dexter’

He blamed it on “Dexter.”

A southern Indiana teen, who allegedly strangled his 10-year-old brother to death, said he was inspired by the television serial killer character Dexter.

How is a show about a killer inspiring?  What makes that something that you would want to emulate, especially on your family?

Andrew Conley pleaded guilty on Monday to killing his younger sibling, Conner, last November.

Police said after the gruesome murder, Conley — 17 years old at the time — packed his brother’s body into the trunk of his car and drove to his girlfriend’s house to watch a movie.

This is the cold blooded part.  He loaded the body in the truck like a sack of potatoes.  Then, concerned with his own hedonistic needs, he makes the booty call to snuggle and get some action, while watching a movie.  Now that you have plead guilty, the only snuggling you are going to do is when Bubba is braining your hair, getting you ready for the D@#* down you get in prison.  You seem a little frail.  I hope you are pumping iron.

The teen told police that he identified with Dexter, played by Michael C. Hall, in the Showtime television series about a police blood-spatter analyst who is also a serial killer.

Hall won a Golden Globe for the character, but the show has been criticized for being too violent by the Parents Television Council.

“I felt like I had to,” said Conley, who lives in the small town of Rising Sun.

According to ABC, he compared the urge to kill with a hungry person craving a hamburger, and said he fantasized about killing people since he was in the eighth grade.

This is a Hawkins burger. This is something to fantacize about. the killing? Not so much... Yes, that it Pastrami and a hot link on top as well...See, the things dreams are made of. Dream of killing this gigantic burger are normal and okay

How do you start having fantasies of death of others in the 8th grade?  What were you watching as a kid?

Police said on the morning of Conner’s murder Conley told authorities that he also contemplated killing his sleeping father.

According to The Associated Press, prosecutors plan on seeking a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Conley cannot face the death penalty because he was under 18 when the crime was committed. Defense attorneys are supposed to argue that Conley was insane at the time of the murder.

This isn’t the first murder tied to “Dexter.” In 2008, a 29-year-old Canadian filmmaker, Mark Twitchell, was charged with murdering a man based on a storyline from the show.

Damn, son, get it together.  What you see in the movies and TV does not have to be mimicked.

I can think of a lot of things that can kill.  IF you think that the sentence is just, then the method used to carry out the sentence should be irrelevant.  These people are killers, in some cases, mass murderers.  They didn’t have any sympathy for the victims, why do they deserve ours?

Death Row, Where Is Thy Sting? Lethal Injection Drug in Short Supply

A Shortage of an Important Anesthetic May Be Good News for Some Inmates

By BRIAN BRAIKER

Sept. 20, 2010 —

There has perhaps been no better time to be on death row than right now.

A shortage of a key ingredient of the lethal injection cocktail used by prisons is forcing some states to delay scheduled executions until next year. The crucial component, sodium thiopental — better known as Pentothal — is an anesthetic that is combined with two other drugs that complete the fatal TKO.

Pentothal is produced by only one pharmaceutical company — Hospira — and a spokesman told ABC News that the drug’s active pharmaceutical agent is supplied by a third party and currently unavailable until early 2011.

“We are working to get it back onto the market for our customers as soon as possible,” spokesman Dan Rosenberg wrote in a statement.

Among those customers are most of the 35 states where the death penalty is legal. Last week Kentucky was scheduled to use its last remaining dose of Pentothal in the lethal injection of death row inmate Gregory Wilson, but his execution was postponed for legal reasons.

“We have enough dosage to carry out one of the execution protocols,” said Jennifer Brislin, a spokeswoman of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. “We’ve been trying to secure [more] since at least March and have been unsuccessful.”

Even if his stay comes to an end, Wilson still may be in luck: Kentucky’s Pentothal stash has an expiration date of Oct. 1. Aside from Wilson, there are two other inmates on death row in the state whose fates are held in limbo by the shortage.

Oklahoma was compelled to stay the execution of Jeffrey Matthews last month because of a shortage of Pentothal. The state planned to use a different anesthetic in its place, but lawyers for the inmate successfully argued the new drug was “nothing more than experimental.”

Even among those who are agnostic on the question of whether the death penalty should be legal, there is an awareness that lethal injection can be an extremely painful way to go if not properly — pardon the pun — executed.

Penthothal is the first drug an inmate receives. It is a short-acting rapid-onset barbiturate and general anesthetic that numbs the patient for the double-whammy that follows: a paralyzing agent that shuts down the body’s muscular and respiratory systems, and potassium chloride, which stops the heart, causing death by cardiac arrest.

“It is necessary that the first drug work. It eliminates the pain for the next two drugs,” said Richard Dieter of the Death Penalty Information Center. “Everybody agrees that two-thirds of this process would be excruciating but for the sodium pentothal.”

Dieter, whose organization does not take an ethical stance on the death penalty, stressed that the current shortage of Pentothal is not typical.

“A lot about this issue is absurd,” he said. “That you run out of the drug is like being short of rope for a hanging. That is the reality here.”

Perhaps adding to the absurdity of the situation is the fact that the manufacturer of Pentothal does not condone its use in capital punishment.

“Hospira manufactures this product because it improves or saves lives, and the company markets it solely for use as indicated on the product labeling,” said Rosenberg, the company’s spokesman. “The drug is not indicated for capital punishment, and Hospira does not support its use in this procedure.”

Although Rosenberg said the company has consulted with departments of correction across the country, not one of them reached by ABC News would comment on Hospira’s anti-capital punishment stance.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists similarly declined to comment on the use of Pentothal as an ingredient in lethal injections.

Still, there is one state where it remains an unequivocally unhappy place to be a death row inmate: Texas. Two people are scheduled to be executed by year’s end, and the state apparently has plenty of Pentothal.

“We have the drug in reserve,” said Michelle Lyons, of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, “and therefore have enough for the executions currently scheduled.”

Just give them a hot shot of some leftover heroin or something.  Pump it up so we know there is no chance of coming back.

I'll even spring for the spoon...

All day yesterday, I thought about what we lost and he still hasn’t fully hit me yet. The music was inspiring, and mood changing. The poetry coming from Tupac could be a total attitude adjustment.

Your music still motivates others...the test of a true legend

A true artist/poet has been gone for 14 years yesterday and his music still inspires others to create good music and tell the stories of the streets that need to be heard by others.  It’s been a long time and that void has not and really will not be filled by others.  That is what makes the loss still so painful.  We need good music, and all we are getting is bubblegum rap for the most part.  We need Biggie, we need Tupac.

They were like brothers...it turned into a modern day Cain and Abel possibly

When I hear Dear Mama, I think of my own mother, who passed away over twenty years ago. That song as the ability to make me both happy and sad at the same time. It never fails to pull on th heartstrings.

Me and My Girlfriend always gets me to think about how Jay-Z stole my mans shit, and how clever he was with the word play to talk about the criminality and the love of firearms.

I get around brings back memories of college parties and going out to the club chasing the box. That was an immediate party song that would get people up and shaking.

While I have down down the spectrum to agnostic about religion, Hail Mary brings back time in the church as a little boy. Ronin and I used to be ushers in church and sing in the choir.  We needed forgiveness for the things that we did as kids.

I don’t know if we will have a poet in the same way as Tupac ever again. It really was disheartening to be watching TV in Hawaii this weekend and seeing the VH1 top 100 performers and to see Tupac in the low 60’s. Rap may not be your particular cup of tea, but to disrespect him and have Rage against the Machine, Cheap Trick and others ahead of him is ludicrous. But, rap music wasn’t even on this list the last time they did it, so it is baby steps…but Beyonce is ahead of him? child please…

We will never know what really happened that night in LV, but, I miss you and mourn would could have been.

I wouldn’t kill my mother, although I might think about killing myself.

This dude clearly had bigger issues.  First, PORN IS FREE.  Have you seen the internet?  How did he spend five racks on porn?  His biceps must be huge! Second, you really never make a move on Ma Dukes.  You can leave, you can even go as far as curse her, but when you lay a hand on her, you are lying a hand on the closet thing to God, since she and Dad ( or mailman, random hook-up or sperm donor) gave YOU life.

This is what happens when you don't go and meet "real" women...Just like in Weird Science, I bet he went to the bathroom to "comb" his hair too...

Damn, see what happens when you chase the dollars? Big Shout out to Big Black News Blog… Charles/Atraybion Harmon looks embarrassed and is probably planning the crime right now.  Look at him…

Porn bills were likely motive for slaying of Adelanto mother, authorities say

Posted: 03/11/2010 08:11:07 PM PST

Investigators say an Adelanto man may have decided to kill his mother after they appeared together on a “Judge Mathis” television show where he was ordered to repay his mom part of the money he ran up in bills for pornography.Atraybion Charles Harmon, 20, has pleaded not guilty to stabbing his mother to death March 4 in the family’s home in the 11300 block of Essex Court. In February, 55-year-old Barbette Harmon took the eldest of her three sons on the “Judge Mathis” show to recoup costs she claimed Atraybion Harmon racked up on Internet and television porn.

Judge Mathis ruled in her favor, ordering Atraybion Harmon to pay $5,000. On the television show, the judgment is actually paid by the production company.

Nevertheless, detectives believe the appearance on the show was the motive for Barbette Harmon’s slaying.

“It did play a role,” said San Bernardino County sheriff’s homicide Detective Steve Pennington. “He didn’t pay anything out of his pocket but he still owed quite a bit of money to her.”

A YouTube video with a clip from the episode was posted three weeks ago but is no longer available for viewing. Warner Bros. Entertainment has put up a label saying it was taken down because of a copyright claim.

You can read WB as saying, “We do not want to become party to a lawsuit, which is already in the works.  we need some plausible defensibility to the claim that we pushed this dude over the edge.,..”

Officials with the show declined to comment.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the family’s home about 1:20 p.m. when Atraybion Harmon called 9-1-1 to report that he had come home and found his injured mother. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Atraybion Harmon lived in the home with his mother and two younger brothers, neither of whom were home at the time of the attack, authorities said.

Investigators have said they found evidence at the scene that led them to believe Atraybion Harmon was involved but they declined to say what the evidence was.

“We became suspicious of what we found at the scene,” Pennington said. “His story didn’t match up.”

Harmon is being held without bail at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. He is scheduled to appear Thursday in Victorville Superior Court.

Anyone with information about the slaying can contact Detective Robert Warrick at the sheriff’s Homicide Detail at 909-387-3589.

damn…Judge Mathis leads to the death of a mother.  One might ask what the mom was doing bringing him on TV and airing him out like that, but you gotta pay the bills and five racks aint chump change.

But, I found out some interesting facts abotu Judge Greg Mathis while learning about this story.

A self confessed major gamer, Mathis is currently working a video game entitled Mathis: Detroit Street Judge with filmmaker Mathis: Detroit Street Judge. The game will focus on a newly released ex-convict working to find a way out of a life of crime, similar to Mathis’ own experiences.[5]

Which is kinda tight, since he was caught up in the life before going straight and going to law school…

Don't shoot! I'm not armed! Seems like he had foreshadowing working

Since we were in Philly with Freeway yesterday, it got me thinking about another Philadelphia rapper, Steady B.  This man could have used some stimulus help.  This can also be a warning to rappers.  Here is a story of a man with some talent, who went for the quick score.

On January 2, 1996, Steady B, along with C.E.B. band mate Cool C, and another local Philadelphia rapper, Mark Canty, attempted a bank robbery at a PNC bank branch in Philadelphia. During the botched heist, where Steady B served as the getaway driver in a stolen minivan, Philadelphia Police Officer Lauretha Vaird, who responded to the bank’s silent alarm, was shot and killed by Cool C.[2][3] Officer Vaird, an African-American woman and the single mother of two children, was the first female Philadelphia Police officer slain in the line of duty.[4] The incident inspired the song “Slipped Away (The Ballad of Lauretha Vaird)”, which appeared on Philadelphia trio G. Love and Special Sauce‘s album Yeah, It’s That Easy.

Steady B was arrested at his apartment shortly after the bank robbery. Two handguns left at the scene by Cool C and Canty, including the murder weapon, were traced back to Steady, and he eventually confessed his role in the crimes to police during interrogation.[5]

At his trial, the State presented evidence, including testimony from Steady’s wife, that Steady B, Cool C, and Canty met at Steady’s apartment shortly after the robbery, where they watched media coverage of the event on television, and discussed their escape.[5] Incriminating statements by Canty were also admitted into evidence at Steady’s trial.[5]

On October 30, 1996, Steady was convicted of the second degree murder of Officer Vaird.[2] On December 13, 1996, Steady B was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.[5]

You had talent, but you pissed it away, with the people that you hang around with.  Friends will lead you from trouble, not to it.  You have served 14 years of your life in the poke, and you have nothing else to look forward to, but more time.  But, your beat was tight…

I could use a couple of dollars if you can spare it...

Last night, I felt lousy when I got home.  Actually, when I got home, I felt good until I turned on the TV.  I saw my alma mater choke and lose the conference championship.  Fortunately, she (my erstwhile girlfriend) made me feel a whole lot better after a horrendous game.  Thinking about that spurred the song of the day.

Freeway is a Philadelphia bred rapper, who has a high energy flow.  He is a guy that I liked off  the ROC with Jay-Z.  Various issues caused the partnership or collabo to end, including a crisis of faith.  He took some time away from the mic, and now in 2010 he is ramping back up, getting shine on mixtapes.  Freeway,  welcome back….

Freeway and Jake One— She makes me feel alright…

excuse me, do you have some grey poupon? Or at least some cocktail sauce?

I don’t get the people who want to swim with the sharks or whales.  You are violating their home.  YOU ARE A THREAT!  Plus, they are KILLER WHALES!  What did you want them to do?  Knit a sweater?

1 killed in whale attack at Florida SeaWorld

Orlando Sentinel

12:57 PM PST, February 24, 2010

ORLANDO, FLORIDA

An Orlando SeaWorld employee died this afternoon during an incident at SeaWorld’s Shamu Stadium, a local official confirmed.

SeaWorld, rescue personnel and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are not revealing the identity of the victim, although a local TV station is reporting that a female employee was killed after she was grabbed by one of the theme park’s whales at the start of a public show.

Park guest Victoria Biniak told Local 6 that the trainer was a veteran of SeaWorld and had just finished explaining to the audience the show they were about to see.

At that point, Biniak said, the whale came up from the water and grabbed the woman.

“He was thrashing her around pretty good. It was violent,'” Biniak told Local 6.

The whale “took off really fast in the tank, and then he came back, shot up in the air, grabbed the trainer by the waist and started thrashing around, and one of her shoes flew off.”

She said sirens went off and everyone was forced to leave the stadium.

Guests were evacuated from the area, and the whale show was cancelled. The park is not shut down.

Orange County Fire Rescue personnel arrived on scene within five minutes of receiving a 911 call for an unknown medical condition just prior to 2 p.m., a spokesman said. The woman was dead when rescue officials arrived.

The Sheriff’s Office is on the scene.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration dispatched an investigator from Tampa to investigate, an OSHA spokesman said.

Local 6 is reporting that the whale involved in the incident is named Tillikum, and that whale has been involved in at least one other incident at the park.

Tillikum, nicknamed “Tilly,” has a controversial past. The large whale was blamed for the drowning of one of his trainers in 1991 while he was performing at Sealand of the Pacific in British Columbia.

Sold to SeaWorld as a stud in 1992, the whale was involved in a second incident when authorities discovered the body of a naked homeless man lying across his back in July 1999.

Authorities later concluded the man, who had either snuck into SeaWorld after hours or hidden in the park until it closed, most likely drowned after suffering hypothermia in the 55-degree water.

But they also said it appeared Tillikum had bit the man and tore of his swimming trunks, likely believing he was a toy to play with.

SeaWorld has had incidents with its killer whales in the past. In 2005, a trainer was injured by what park officials called an “overly excited” whale that bumped the trainer during a live performance. The injuries were minor.

Feds won’t charge officers in Sean Bell shooting

By MURRAY WEISS and LEONARD GREENE

Federal authorities will not pursue charges against the officers involved in the fatal shooting of Sean Bell, the unarmed bridegroom who died in a hail of police bullets outside a Queens strip club just hours before his wedding.

Prosecutors said there was “insufficient evidence” that Bell’s civil rights were violated when undercover officers unloaded on a car carrying Bell and two friends on a Jamaica street in November, 2006.

I guess the right to live is not a civil right.  What about the right not to die on the street in a hail of bullets, if I am not shooting at you?  I know that one must be in there somewhere…

Another black youth who has to grow up without one of their parents. This time, it wasn't divorce or drugs...it was the police...

Three officers were acquitted in 2008, including Michael Oliver, who police said reloaded while firing 31 of the 50 shots that filled the vehicle and surrounding streets.

Bitterly disappointed, Bell’s parents and his fiancée, Nicole Paultre-Bell, sought input from federal prosecutors, only to have their hopes for justice dashed again.

Justice denied is justice denied…isn’t that how the saying went?  It is far from delayed….

Bell’s family met with officials from the US Justice Department’s civil rights division, who delivered the news.

The Rev. Al Sharpton, a family adviser, said he spoke with US Attorney General Eric Holder about the decision.

“I expressed to him my extreme disappointment in the decision and our legal advisors saw the evidence and federal jurisdiction differently,” Sharpton said in a statement. “We agreed, however, that the family and community must continue to bring a new day in how we deal with police matters and how both community residents and police are protected equally under the law.”

What is happening in this new day?  It looks like the same old shit that got us riled up in the first place.  Oscar Grant, Sean Bell…how many more will it take before someone comes to the conclusion that this is not right?   The protection that you speak of is falling on deaf ears, since we know that protection comes a lot better and quicker if you are white in a white neighborhood.

Bell, 23, and two friends, Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman, had piled in Bell’s car after leaving a bachelor party at a Queens strip club when they were confronted by a team of police officers who thought they were retrieving a gun to settle a score at the club.

No gun was recovered.

Oliver’s lawyer, James Culleton, said he was pleased with the decision.

“There was no intent to violate any civil rights,” Culleton said. “There was justification for the shooting. There was a fair trial in Queens and a fair decision.”

What justification was there for the shooting? Saying things like this make it seem as though you don’t care.   We know you don’t care, that is why you reloaded and kept shooting.  But, for the families sake, how about you fake it for a little bit, before going back to the klan klubhouse to laugh at killing another black face…it’s reading news like this that gets me mad and sad at the same time.  Mad to think that cops can indiscriminately kill a black man, nut sad to know that there is nothing that can be done about it.

This dude does not have to worry about anything....

Having everything you want and not having to want for anything must be nice.  I know its the reason that I continue in the rat race, even though I would rather be at home on the couch.  Sometimes, you see stories on the news and you feel motivated to help, or it touches you that something happened.  Hey, it is part of the reason why we blog.

When you know the story is truly horrific, can be just the tonic for action.  each person should try to do what they can.  You don’t have to be a big baller to help, although if you are, you should do more.  Shaq would qualify as a big baller.  A lot of the things that Shaq or other celebrities/athletes do don’t get the press. We want the salacious details, the embarrassing gaffes that they make.  For some, it makes them feel better about their own miserable life when they see someone else down in the dumps.  This time, we want to celebrate people doing good, especially on Thanksgiving.  Shaq showed how to be thankful for what you have…

Whip them into shape Shaq! Shaq clearly has a soft soft for kids, since he is just an oversized one himself

Shaq pays for N.C. girl’s funeral

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal paid for the funeral of a 5-year-old North Carolina girl after being moved by national news coverage of the case of Shaniya Davis, who police say was kidnapped and killed.

Shaniya and her father, Bradley Lockhart. How did this guy get involved with a crackhead mother? My heart goes out to him.

The Cleveland Cavaliers player was touched by the stories he saw and got in touch with the family to see what he could do to help, a spokeswoman for O’Neal said Thursday. Read the rest of this entry »

You know we went over the reasons why this is true here.  First, we brought you news of the death.  During the reporting of his death, we speculated correctly. (This is something that you never want to be right on) With his death, we tried to look towards something positive.  We told you that you can prevent his from happening by not buying your side pieces things, because they become accustomed to getting things.  When you pull back, they will be upset.  Now, if you are like Loso, then you can just throw it in the bag and not care.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

But, it remains worth saying, due to the release of the cell phone records of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi.

One message that I hope doesn’t get lost is that the things that you say are not really protected once you die.  So all the dirt that you texted about, there are records of all that.  So, don’t think that you are getting away with something, because if you commit a crime, they are going to subpoena these records. USA Today reports the mayhem….

Nashville police have released more details about the murder-suicide of former Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair and his 20-year-old girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, including some of their final text messages.

In the early morning of July 3, one day before their bodies were found, Kazemi sent a text message to McNair asking if he loved her.

“I’m gonna have all of u soon,” she said.

“Yes u will,” McNair replied.

See, here is the first mistake.  Don’t promise something that you have no intention of following through with.  Playing with someone’s emotions can have dangerous consequences.

The deaths have been ruled a murder-suicide, but the case file was withheld pending outcome of a related federal case involving the sale of the weapon used in the killings.

Click here to read the police summary report.
McNair and Kazemi were found July 4 at a downtown Nashville condo McNair rented.

The former Titan quarterback was shot four times, and Kazemi died from a single gunshot to the head. Neither had any defensive wounds, and police believe McNair was asleep.
Investigators concluded that Kazemi was drowning in debt and despondent over realizations that McNair was dating other women and wasn’t going to leave his wife for her, The Tennessean reports.

If you had kept it real in the first place, then the other women might not have been so stressful.  But, when you tell her that she is about to be elevated to QB#1 and in reality, you keep her on the practice squad, that can tear at a woman.

Early in the morning on July 3, she texted McNair, saying she might have a breakdown because she was so stressed. He responded, telling her everything was going to be fine.

“Baby I need to pay the cell phone bills n the hospital. can you transfer 2000 to my acc (sic)”, the text message said.

Then, nine minutes later, she said she might need to go to the hospital because she could hardly breathe.

A few hours later, she told McNair she wanted to pay some bills before she went to work because they were stressing her out.
He assured her he had someone transferring the money, the report says.

it really isnt that serious....just file for bankruptcy...or have someone steal the Caddy and get the insurance money...

it really isnt that serious....just file for bankruptcy...or have someone steal the Caddy and get the insurance money...

This is when it fully becomes a problem.  When she is equating her fiscal problems with the causes of health problems, then you have a situation that you need to deal with.  The sad fact of the matter is that the 10K or 20 that she owed was a drop in the bucket for McNair.  But, for normal people, that can seem like a drowning amount of money.

sasaD

The American Dream....to be drowning in debt and owning a bunch of crap....

But, for those of use living large, here is how to live larger

ESPN reports the level of despair that she was feeling…

Kazemi later texted McNair three times asking to be with him that night. He said he was having trouble getting his sons to sleep. But at that time, McNair was seen at a restaurant with friends. Kazemi texted she was going to his condo. He texted back at 12:38 a.m. that he was on his way and asked her to open the front door at 12:52 a.m. Kazemi told him at 1:14 a.m. it was open.

Don’t play with people emotions is the sad tale that this story tells.  That and not to have a side pivce or jump-off
