Damn, I'm getting lifted off the sauce!

no one gets banned in Vegas…do they? Well, I guess Paris is the first one.

LAS VEGAS (CBS/AP) — Paris Hilton may be forced to spend her time gambling in Atlantic City.
Hilton was banned Wednesday from two Wynn resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, and her boyfriend was dismissed as a nightclub partner following their arrests in a vehicle that police said reeked of marijuana.
Wynn Resorts Ltd. spokeswoman Jennifer Dunne told The Associated Press that Hilton is barred from Wynn Las Vegas and Encore.
Meanwhile, boyfriend Cy Waits was “separated” from his job after less than a week as top managing partner of the Tryst Nightclub at Wynn and XS The Nightclub at Encore, Dunne said in a statement.

Now, your man is fired.  Ask yourself, was it really worth it?  Why was he driving anyway?  You should have a driver or be in a limo if you are going out to get your swerve on.

Waits, his lawyer and a lawyer and publicist for the 29-year-old Hilton did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Smart.  Maybe the only smart thing you have done recently…But, what really, what could you say?  I was smoking weed and I got my boyfriend caught up?

The moves come after Hilton was arrested Friday for investigation of felony cocaine possession. Waits was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Charges have not yet been filed.
Hilton was arrested inside the Wynn resort, where a police lieutenant reported a small plastic bag containing 0.8 grams of cocaine fell into his hand when Hilton reached for a tube of lip balm in a purse.

See Paris, remember wen we saw your weed (that doesn't even look like good weed, which is shameful with your budget) coming out of your purse

See Paris, remember wen we saw your weed (that doesn't even look like good weed, which is shameful with your budget) coming out of your purse

You knew that you have coke in your purse.  Yes, it was only a gram, but why are you fishing in your purse?  You KNEW it was in there and you only ran the risk of exposing the coke.  You only led them to look harder at you, especially when they found the butt of joint you tossed out the window.

Memo to Paris…unless you are in CA or other weed tolerant states and you have proper paperwork, don’t smoke weed…and definitely do not do it in the car…

The New York City-born celebrity socialite is scheduled for arraignment Oct. 27 and would face probation if convicted.
A police report made public Wednesday said the suspected butt of a marijuana cigarette was found in the Cadillac Escalade in which the couple was stopped in front of the Wynn Las Vegas hotel-casino.
Waits, 34, was driving. He had bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol and wobbled as he failed two field sobriety tests, the arresting officer said.
Waits allowed blood to be drawn when he was booked into the Clark County jail in downtown Las Vegas, Officer Bill Cassell said. Results won’t be released until the case reaches court.
Waits spent a night in jail on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence before being freed on $2,000 bail with a Nov. 29 court date.
Dunne said Waits’ twin brother, Jesse Waits, is continuing as general partner of the Wynn resorts’ Tryst and XS clubs.

Well at least his bro will still be able to get freaky in the clubs.

Nice boob job, but you should work on the dye job...no way the drapes match the carpet

I am….

that she was stupid enough to get caught.

I would think that you would have a bagman for that kind of behavior.  You should never be caught with it.  You should not be photographed with it.  But, the drug is good enough that you cannot lay off it’s clutches.

Paris Hilton was arrested on the Las Vegas Strip late Friday after a police motorcycle officer smelled marijuana smoke wafting from a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend, then found a small amount of cocaine in her purse.

A crowd quickly gathered when Hilton and Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits were stopped about 11:30 p.m. PDT Friday in the vehicle near the Wynn Las Vegas resort, police said.

The 29-year-old celebrity socialite was taken into the hotel “to keep her safe” during the initial investigation, police Lt. Wayne Holman said.

Police Officer Marcus Martin said the motorcycle officer pulled the Escalade over on Las Vegas Boulevard after noticing smoke that smelled like marijuana. Police later found a substance in Hilton’s purse that tests showed to be cocaine, Martin said. He didn’t say how much of the drug was found.

This dude doesn’t have a long career in Vegas is he is going to arrest moguls…

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of felony cocaine possession.

Waits, 34, was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Both were booked into the Clark County jail, where Martin said Hilton was released without bail about 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Less than an hour later, Hilton’s Twitter account was updated with a posting that said the actress was in bed watching the television show “Family Guy,” and then that she was going to sleep. It was unclear if the tweets came from her, were posted by time-release or were sent by someone else.

If convicted of the low-grade felony, Hilton would get probation. Any violation of probation would be punishable by one to four years in Nevada state prison.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger declined comment Saturday about the case.

Hilton’s attorney, David Chesnoff, told The Associated Press on Saturday morning that he was still gathering facts about the arrest.

“I caution people not to rush to judgment,” he said.

No, its okay.  I am going to rush to judgement.  She had the weed incident in South Africa during the world cup and she has been seen on camera smoking and she hangs out with cokeheads, so I am going to rush here to judge.  She is a coke head.  Fortunately, she has money, as I bet she would suck %$&@ for money, like Bob Saget.

Damn, be more DISCRETE!

Waits’ lawyer, Richard Schonfeld, said Waits posted $2,000 bail and was expected to be released Saturday.

Court appearance dates for Hilton and Waits were not immediately available.

Schonfeld said he was “troubled by the circumstances” leading to the arrest, but declined to specify his concerns.

“As the case proceeds, a lot of facts are going to come to light that will ultimately lead to exoneration,” Schonfeld said.

Hilton’s manager did not immediately respond early Saturday to telephone calls for comment. Hilton’s publicist, Dawn Miller, did not immediately return an e-mail message.

A spokeswoman for Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas declined immediate comment.

Waits and his twin brother, Jesse, are managing partners of the Tryst Nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas, Drai’s after hours club at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, and XS The Nightclub at Wynn’s Encore resort.

How does this dude not have a bagman?  You run one of the most popular clubs in Vegas?  All you need to do is get home or get to the club BEFORE doing your drugs.  Out in the open is foolish.

Earlier this week, Hilton was in the news when a 31-year-old man allegedly tried to break into her Los Angeles home.

Authorities have said that someone carrying two big knives banged on Hilton’s window Tuesday. She posted a photo of the arrest on Twitter and described it as “scary.” Nathan Lee Parada faces a felony burglary charge.

Hilton was arrested this summer after the Brazil-Netherlands World Cup match in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on suspicion of possession of marijuana. The case was then dropped at a midnight court hearing.

Hilton pleaded no contest in 2007 to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. After spending about 23 days in jail, Hilton told CNN host Larry King that the experience caused her to re-evaluate the role partying played in her life. She said she wanted “to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.”

While most famous for her tabloid exploits and reality TV series “The Simple Life,” Hilton has appeared in the films “Bottoms Up,””The Hottie & the Nottie” and “House of Wax.”

Damn Morpheus, did you offer her the red and the blue pill?

Did she take both, or what?

You would think that pops would have kicked down some loot to prevent this, but it has shades of Reggie Bush to me.  You might ask, “What do you mean Steve?”  Well, the big issue with Reggie is that had he been a man and paid off his debts, the issue with USC would not have gone anywhere.  This started as a suit to get money back that the agent and runners gave to him.

This seems the same way.  Montana must have been broke and needed some loot and Larry didn’t kick down, until it was too late and Vivid had the video.  Now, the issue gets worse because there are some non flattering scenes with her co-star, Brian Pumper.  CBS explains

As a father, this has to be the worse nightmare you can have

NEW YORK (CBS) Montana Fishburne has welcomed her new found fame with open arms; however, the 19-year-old adult film star might be learning the hard way that the porn industry doesn’t always play by the rules.

The budding film star has reportedly hired a team of lawyers to clear up an X-rated debate with her sex tape partner.

According to TMZ, Montana Fishburne, whose father is “The Matrix” star Laurence Fishburne, has sent several letters to porn co-star Brian Pumper demanding that his production company stop selling “Phattys Rhymes & Dimes 14” because it contains footage of “work” that Montana and Brian did on the side…you know for practice.

The letter issued to Brian Pumper claims that Montana never consented to the use of the material for that video, but admits that she agreed to “practice” with Pumper in order to get ready for her debut with Vivid Entertainment, reports TMZ.

Montana Fishburne said she made it clear the additional footage was not supposed to be sold.

As of late, Brian Pumper has not responded to the letters, says TMZ.

Listen to the reason for the sex tape…

As reported last week, Montana, 19, has chosen to release a sex tape with Vivid to follow in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian:

“I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape.”

Really? Kimmy Kakes showed you the way to fame? At least she was having sex with someone famous… I had no idea who Brian Pumper was until I looked it up and I still really don’t.

One is real, the other from a movie....can you tell which is which?

The only one he really hurt is himself…

An attorney for Plaxico Burress poured cold water on the story that Burress might be just weeks away from stepping out of a New York prison.

Lawyer Peter Frankel told the New York Daily News that while Burress has a work release application pending, it’s no sure thing that prison officials will grant it and still a long shot that they would allow him to return to the NFL this season.

“To say he’ll be out in two to three weeks is certainly premature,” Frankel told the paper.

The New York Post reported on Wednesday that Burress was weeks away from a potential release. Frankel explained to the News that it was a flawed analysis.

“That was somebody going to visit him, and saying he was hopeful he might be moved in two to three weeks,” Frankel said, “and suddenly that turned into ‘He’ll be out in two to three weeks.’ ”

And if prison officials grant work release to Burress, they may prevent him from returning to the NFL until after his sentence expires next year.

A prison spokesman told the News that work-release inmates normally perform their service in the community.

With the football season close by and players starting to report to training camp, the urge to do something that he has done most his life is starting to creep in again.  The feeling of going to raining camp, even though no one really likes it, is ingrained into every players DNA.  Just look at the drama with the Brett Favre situation.  Hopefully he gets out and returns to the field.

Nothing better than a crack and peanut butter sandwich! The rocks give it such a great texture...

but seriously, it was about time that this disparity got fixed.  We here at Too Old are not pro crack,  but at least make the sentencing fair between two similar (if not equal) drugs. Although after watching this video, maybe we should make crack harder to get, or raise the punishment for having it.   Ignore the singing in the beginning, but the rest of the video is hilarious…

The Miami Herald puts the news into context

WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives passed a historic bill Wednesday that narrows sentencing disparities between crack and powder cocaine convictions, which civil rights and civil liberties experts say contributed to the disproportionate imprisonment of African-Americans in recent decades.

Now, I want to clear something up here.  the people getting arrested are crackheads, and/or crack dealers.  Let’s not make it seem like they were caught up in a police sting through entrapment.  The one thing to remember is that they would have been in jail for dealing powder cocaine as well.  So, the numbers would have been similar, minus the people who would not have gotten involved in the coke game due to finances and connections.  It’s not like with coke they give you a free pass or anything…

I believe in WHITE POWER....wait I meant WHITE POWDER...CRACK!

The Senate passed its version of the bill in March. President Barack Obama, who during the 2008 presidential campaign said the current legal disparity “cannot be justified and should be eliminated,” is expected to sign the legislation.

By voice vote, the House altered a law implemented in 1986 during the early phase of the crack cocaine epidemic. It required anyone convicted of possession of 5 grams of crack to be sentenced to at least five years in prison.

Many lawmakers and organizations such as the NAACP and the American Civil Liberties Union complained for nearly a quarter-century that the law was unfair because someone convicted of crack possession got the same mandatory sentence as someone convicted of possessing 100 times that amount of powder cocaine, a drug more popular among whites.

Then keep your crack in powder form, until it is time to smoke up!.  Or, just don’t do crack. Because we all know crack is whack!

A 2009 report by the Sentencing Project, a liberal advocacy group, found that drug use rates were similar among racial and ethnic groups, but that sentencing among the groups for cocaine violations was vastly different, in large part because of the disparity between sentences for crack and powder cocaine.

In 2006, 81.8 percent of crack cocaine defendants were black, 8.8 percent were white and 8.4 percent were Hispanic, according the Sentencing Project report. For the same year, 57.5 percent of powder cocaine defendants were Hispanic, 27 percent were African-American and 14.7 were percent white.

Well, Crack is cheap and who doesn’t like a bargain!

Did you say 5 o'clock crack giveaway!

“African American drug defendants have a 20 percent greater chance of being sentenced to prison than white drug defendants,” the Sentencing Project report said. “Between 1994 and 2003, the average time served by African Americans for drug offenses increased by 62 percent, compared to an increase of 17 percent for white drug offenders.”

The House bill raises the five-year mandatory minimum sentencing trigger for crack possession from five grams to 28 grams and eliminates mandatory minimum sentencing for simple possession of crack. Possession of 500 grams of powder cocaine carries a mandatory minimum five years in prison under the bill.

“In passing the Fair Sentencing Act today, the House sent a bill to President Obama that is a step forward in addressing the fairness of our sentencing laws,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. “This legislation reduces the disparity between sentences for crack and powder cocaine – a step long overdue.”

Civil rights groups applauded the House vote and urged Obama to sign the bill quickly.

“Because of the mandatory minimum jail sentence for those convicted of possession of 5 grams of crack cocaine or more, people of color are being put in prisons at much higher rates than their Caucasian counterparts, and the judges have no discretion to mitigate the sentence for first-time or nonviolent offenders or special circumstances,” NAACP President Benjamin Jealous said. “This legislation is just the first step in eliminating disparities in sentencing, and we will continue to push for the elimination of this racially discriminatory sentencing disparity.”

How about we push to get people off crack?  I know the law had a racial bias to it.  But, let’s not celebrate like this is Brown vs. Board of Education or anything.  The specter of drugs is something that the communities need to work on.  This might be a first step, but keeping the kids off crack might be something to work on as well.

break your mothers back...

Just to be safe, if I had FACEBOOK, I would friend Jesus...

But, here is the kicker.  They were beefing over a dude who was LOCKED UP! AKON style!

You know we are not ones to hate here, but the fact of the matter is that dude must have skills with the verbs or with lying the pipe, because he had these two chicken heads sprung to the point of violence.

(07-23) 22:38 PDT Pontiac, Mich. (AP) —

A Facebook feud between two women who claimed to love the same prison inmate led to a high-speed chase and a crash that critically injured one of the rivals, killed her friend and left the second rival facing murder charges.

Torrie Emery was arraigned Friday in Pontiac’s 50th District Court on multiple felonies, as friends of the dead woman were holding a car wash to pay for her funeral.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Pontiac police Chief Valard S. Gross told The Associated Press as he described the escalating dispute that ended with Wednesday’s deadly crash. “It’s just crazy.”

FACEBOOK and Twitter beef is not cute.  It solves nothing and makes you look like a fool for putting your business out there for all to see.

I just want beef to eat....

According to Gross, Emery, 23, and Danielle Booth, 20, had been feuding for some time, leading to an earlier police complaint. According to Emery’s family, the dispute was over a 23-year-old man now serving time in a Michigan prison.

On Wednesday, Emery was driving when she saw Booth in the passenger seat of a car driven by Alesha Abernathy and started chasing her, Gross said. Emery had her 3-year-old daughter in the car with her.

How are you going to chase someone and you have your three year old daughter in the car with you?  Plus, how are you fighting over some scrub in prison, not jail, but prison?

Don't worry, he is thinking of you, or maybe Big SAL...

Police Det. Paul McDougal, who was in an unmarked squad car, saw both vehicles rush by at speeds approaching 100 mph, Gross said. Before McDougal could reach them — and while a panicked Booth was on the phone with a police dispatcher — Abernathy ran a red light and plowed into a dump truck, knocking it onto its side but not injuring the truck’s driver.

The crash killed Abernathy and critically injured Booth, who was in the intensive care unit Friday at POH Regional Medical Center in Pontiac. Emery and her daughter weren’t hurt.

It's a little too late to cry now...

“How can you get that angry or that jealous, really, that you jeopardize the life of your 3-year-old?” Gross asked. “One person’s stupidity, and look at the repercussions. It’s just a ripple effect.”

Emery appeared on video at her arraignment Friday on charges of second-degree murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and child abuse. She indicated she would look for a lawyer.

Judge Preston Thomas ordered her jailed without bond and set her preliminary examination for next Thursday.

“We apologize to the family about what happened,” Emery’s aunt, Tamika White, said after the hearing. “This Facebook stuff is just a mess. They’re going on Facebook about a guy that neither one have — that’s in the penitentiary.”

“My sister didn’t mean to kill anybody,” said Traynea Emery, 19.

But, why is your sister and your niece so stupid?  What was she going to do when she got up to them?  Fight her?  Shout at her?  Those are all adult things to do. (sarcasm intended) Regardless of intent, she is still dead and she threatened the life of her child.  Now, she is going to be in prison without her child, family of the scrub she was beefing over.  Its Real Life When Keeping it Real Goes Wrong

Across town in the parking lot of Pete’s Coney Island restaurant, a group of Abernathy’s friends were holding a car wash to raise money for the funeral they said Abernathy’s family couldn’t afford.

“She was the center of attention,” said Brittany Carriti, 22, of Pontiac, a former classmate from Manley Alternative High School in Waterford. She and her friends had raised several hundred dollars by midday.

Abernathy was “always the one for whom the party started,” said another ex-classmate, Chandra Tiernan, 23, of Waterford.

While Abernathy knew about the dispute between Booth and Emery, she wasn’t involved in it, Tiernan said.

“She died over someone else’s problem,” Tiernan said.

(This version CORRECTS 5th paragraph to reflect that Emery, not Gross, had her child in the car with her.)

How many more reasons to you need to convince you prison is not the place to be? STAY OUT OF PRISON!

The mention of sex parties and prison usually turn my stomach, because I think of the scene in American Me. (click to watch what I mean)

I never want to go to prison.  But, if I had to go, I want to go to this place…

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) – The New York State Commission of Correction says top officials and staff were irresponsible when they authorized and failed to supervise a party at a youth prison where some violent offenders had sex with dates.

The commission faults the Office of Children and Family Services for directing the Goshen Secure Center in the Hudson Valley to hold the December party for four offenders as a reward for good behavior. They ranged in age from 17 to 20, three doing time for murder and one for armed robbery.

The commission says officials knew little about the four female guests, ranging from 16 to 27, who were driven from Albany and New York City by state workers in state vehicles.

OCFS says it has stopped social events and disciplined seven of its staff.

Now, I make light of this, but the real message is that prison is not the place to be for anyone.

Just the tip, just for a minute...

Lindsey is only in this movie for a hot minute and of course, she has a nude scene in it.  It clearly will not be a Two Mules for Sister Sara moment… She is going to be reduced to these types of roles unless she gets her act together.

Lindsay Lohan is no stranger to shocking and judging by stills and posters recently released for her next movie the troubled starlet intends to keep fanning the flames of controversy.

A new poster for Machete, directed by Robert Rodriguez, shows Lohan posing as a nun, in full habit, licking the barrel of a gun.

A still from the movie has also been released showing Lohan’s character, The Sister, pointing a handgun at the camera.

Robert Rodriguez was clutch in the movie El Marachi, so I am obviously going to give this movie a look-see.  But, really, for the other actors. De Niro, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal are in the movie and they will make it worth bootlegging.

Looks like LA is up for grabs...Don't drop the soap USC!

Once you get caught, you are a cheater.

Erik has had some issues with calling USC a cheating program and he thinks that it is jealousy that drives the train.  Child please.  Not everyone is memorized by LaLa land.  I lived there and hated it.  Plus, if I had to go to school in LA (which I did at LMU) it would be UCLA, or Pepperdine (for the view) that I would go to, not the gated community of spoiled children.  But, that is for a different time. At least you have smart cheerleaders, right?

Hey, at least the team you are cheering for is actually playing for something....

First, you cry out for the meaning of cheat

Here is the face of a cheater...except he got caught after he left...but he cheated at USC as well...JUICE!

The only thing that you are right about is that USC didnt cheat, because it can’t, since its a brick and mortar building.  PEOPLE AT USC cheat.
1) Defintion of cheating…wiki helps us out time and time again
Cheating is an act of lying, deception, fraud, trickery, imposture, or imposition. Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one’s own interest, and often at the expense of others,[1] Cheating implies the breaking of rules. The term “cheating” is less applicable to the breaking of laws, as illegal activities are referred to by specific legal terminology such as fraud or corruption.

So, this is a chip shot, since you never answered the original charge. But, to be clear, Tim Floyd PAID to get OJ Mayo on campus.  That is a textbook case of cheating.  The only thing that didn’t happen was discovering the money outright, like what happened to Kentucky in 87.

Hey OJ? Need a little extra loot? Look for the wiseguy handoff...

The scandal broke when Emery Worldwide employees discovered $1,000 in cash in an envelope Kentucky assistant coach Dwane Casey sent to Mills’ father.[23] Another player, Eric Manuel, was found to have received improper assistance on his college entrance exams and was banned from NCAA competition. Kentucky was already on probation stemming from an extensive scheme of payments to recruits, and the NCAA seriously considered hitting the Wildcats with the “death penalty”, which would have shut down the entire basketball program (as opposed to simply being banned from postseason play) for up to two years. However, school president David Roselle forced Sutton and athletic director Cliff Hagan to resign. The Wildcats were slapped with three years’ probation, a two-year ban from postseason play and a ban from live television in 1989–90[24]

Your school attempted to get an unfair advantage over others.  Your school broke the rules.  YOUR SCHOOL IS A CHEATING SCHOOL.

Now, lets look at the Reggie Bush situation and figure out why that is cheating

This was all my parents fault, not me...except for the part where I said lets do it....And yes,Butch, I mean Reggie, your parents will lose the house if you do not show up to practice. (Blue Chips)

The NCAA investigation began in March 2006, when reports surfaced that Bush’s mother, brother and stepfather had lived in a San Diego-area home that was owned by a would-be marketer who planned to be part of a group that represented Bush when he turned pro.

Other athletes do not get that benefit, that is why it is cheating.  Your version of “Eve” Bush costs the program.  He took a bite from the apple the NCAA said leave alone.  But, it was too irresistible…You played with a guy who should have been on the sidelines.

1) Todd McNair LIED TO THE NCAA to cover up wrong doing. A guy STILL on the staff is a LIAR, which he LIED to hide CHEATING

This is the face of a lying cheater, or a cheating liar....you pick.

The 67-page public report recounts a laundry list of extra benefits provided to Reggie Bush and his family, much of which has been widely reported. The committee also found that McNair not only knew about Bush’s dealings with would-be agents and sports marketers, he lied about what he knew to NCAA investigators. McNair, whom new coach Lane Kiffin retained as the Trojans running backs coach, is banned from all recruiting activities for a year.

“The committee finds ample reason in the record to question the credibility of the assistant football coach [McNair],” the report said.

2) Your school had no control over the program.  Multiple accounts of agents attempting to seduce players to sign.

  • “The general campus environment surrounding the violations troubled the committee,” the report said.
  • “The committee noted that the violations in this case strike at the heart of the NCAA amateurism principal, which states that intercollegiate athletics should be motivated primarily by education and its benefits,” the report said.

3) Reggie took money, which means that you played with an ineligible player.  That is breaking the rules, i.e. cheating.

I know that you hate womens sports, but isn’t that funny that a woman helped bring down Troy?  Her improper use of the phones to the tune of 7 stacks shows a lack of institutional control.

Say bye-bye to this trophy...plus, you already broke it. Look for the glass football...

AT: Why me? and everybody is dirty

1) Prove it.

2) YOU GOT CAUGHT!

3) Stop Snitching and take it like a man.  Don’t end up like Kwame Kilpatrick and get your cry on.

wait til you get to the car and dont let the brothas in the pen see you cry...

You have no guarantee of winning the job, so your money is in jepardy.

Whitman wins GOP nomination for Calif. governor
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Meg Whitman, the billionaire former chief executive of eBay, easily won the race for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, setting up a general election contest against former Gov. Jerry Brown.

Whitman took a large lead in the polls in the final weeks of the campaign after a negative ad war over which Republican was the most conservative.

The contest was the most expensive primary in California history, with Whitman spending more than $81 million and state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner spending $25 million.

Whitman, who has never before run for elective office, is the first woman to win the Republican nomination for governor in California.

Brown, governor from 1975-83, was unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Jerry Brown just got to sit back and watch the fireworks.  Plus, he can steal from the loser and recycle some of the messages that seemed to work.
