SOUTH CAROLINA (PIX11)—
After eating an ounce of cocaine hidden in his brother’s buttocks, a South Carolina man died soon after.Deangelo Mitchell, 23, and his brother Wayne, 20, were in the back of a North Charleston Police Department cruiser on Nov. 30. The duo was being transported to jail when they began whispering about narcotics hidden inside the older sibling.

The Mitchells were arrested when a police officer found three small bags of cocaine underneath a rear seat of their 2001Chrysler. It is evident in video footage that Deangelo Mitchell encouraged his younger brother to ingest the cocaine. The older Mitchell has a lengthy record and was concerned that he could face life in prison if convicted of a narcotics charge. “I can’t get no more strikes,” he told his brother.

He further directed his brother to “Eat that s***” and “Chew that s***.”

In the footage, Wayne Mitchell can be seen, in handcuffs, reaching back to retrieve the cocaine from his brother. He then drops his head while he eats the cocaine.

Wayne Mitchell soon after began convulsing and bleeding from his mouth. “White powder residue” was found on the rear seat of the police cruiser, cops noted. Deangelo later said “he believed his brother swallowed an ounce of cocaine.”

Wayne Mitchell died within an hour of ingesting the cocaine.

Deangelo Mitchell was initially charged with narcotics trafficking and was released from custody after posting $50,000 bond. But after a review of the police footage, authorities rearrested him Tuesday, charging him with involuntary manslaughter in connection with his brother’s death.

Why was he acting like a cheerleader?  I mean, c’mon man…he is already doing you a solid…
What do you tell your family about this? Holidays are definitively going to be awkward from now on. Worse, is that there is video of the act…

Drunk dialing is a pop-culture term denoting an instance in which an intoxicated individual places phone calls that he or she would not likely place if sober. The term often refers to a lonely individual calling former or current love interests.

I have this disease late at night sometimes, involving alcohol and the telephone. I get drunk, and I drive my wife away with breath like mustard gas and roses. And then, speaking gravely and elegantly into the telephone, I ask the telephone operators to connect me with this friend or that one, from whom I have not heard in years.

“Drunk texting” is a related phenomenon, and potentially yet more embarrassing for the sender as, once the message is sent, it cannot be retrieved; the message will most likely be misspelled (due to being drunk), and it might be reviewed and shared among many.

Normally, when you think of drunk dialing, it’s usually made by someone looking to get some late night friction going with a partner.  If you went to college, chances are you either made one, or received one from someone.  Once you leave college, or even you didn’t go to college, there is a time where you get serious and put away the immediate gratification of youth.  Someone forgot to tell Virginia Thomas that it’s not ladylike to get perked at 7:30 in the morning. (Unless she was drunk all night…which could happen…)

“Good morning Anita Hill, it’s Ginni Thomas.”Anita Hill got a wakeup call—both literally and figuratively—at 7:31am on a recent Saturday morning. Hill, who testified almost 20 years ago that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas sexually harassed her, got the surprise phone call from Thomas’ wife.

“Good morning Anita Hill, it’s Ginni Thomas,” started the message. “I just wanted to reach across the airwaves and the years and ask you to consider something. I would love you to consider an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband.”

Virginia (Ginni) Thomas was referring to Hill’s 1991 Senate confirmation hearing testimony in which she claimed that her former boss, Clarence Thomas, made inappropriate sexual comments to her at work.

“So give it some thought,” Thomas continued. “And certainly pray about this and hope that one day you will help us understand why you did what you did. Okay, have a good day.”

We need this for the Telephone…STAT!

Google’s Mail Goggles Prevents Drunk Emailing

Google released a useful new Gmail feature yesterday in its labs, which could help prevent the intoxicated from sending embarrassing late-night emails they might regret in the morning.  When activated, the program will force a user to solve a series of math problems before allowing any message to be sent. They are not terribly difficult, but do serve as an extra line of defense in what can be a very dangerous habit. The service is set by default to kick in only on weekend nights, but you can change the settings to apply whenever.

As for drunk dialing and texting, you’re still on your own.

Look at ole grinning Uncle Tom, I mean Clarence Thomas showing all his teeth…

Now, is Ginni so blind to the fact that this is a woman who strongly believes that she was harassed? What does she have to apologize for? Being attractive to her now husbands wandering eye? We were not there on that day, nearly twenty years ago. But, it is hard to believe that Anita just made this up. Furthering her cause, a former girlfriend of Clarence has ended her silence. Heather Horn at the Atlantic Wire explains

The Washington Post reports today that Lillian McEwan, with whom Thomas was in a relationship at the time, is now, finally, supporting Hill’s story. Apparently she didn’t see fit to say anything during the hearings, but now admits Thomas often told her about women at work, and on at least one occasion asked one of these women her bra size. Thus, as the Post’s Michael Fletcher puts it, “Hill’s allegations that Thomas had pressed her for dates and made lurid sexual references rang familiar.”

This is just like the Coke Zero commercial

The Washington Post gets involved in unraveling the mystery

Lillian McEwen dated Clarence Thomas in the ’80s — and she tells our colleague Michael Fletcher the stories Hill told about him rang true: He checked out female colleagues, once asked a woman her bra size, was “obsessed” with porn and eager to talk about it. The retired administrative law judge was okay with that and shows no rancor towards him, but — full disclosure — she’s a Democrat who doesn’t like his rulings or his sense of victimhood in the Hill matter. And yes, ahem — she’s shopping a memoir that details their “freewheeling sex life.”

At least she discloses her potential bias. Timing is interesting, but it’s not like she told Ginni to make this phone call. You would think that people in the spotlight would understand the need for discretion in their lines of work. Why not have a flunky make the call if you really needed the apology? Did you think that hearing your voice was going to make her agree with you?

Google…we should already have time machines, but until then, what about drunk dial for ANDROID?

I guess that you should not preach Juan...

Funny story but when I was in MN, I hung out with a dude named DD, my dude from way back.  We were hosting a small soiree at our pad and we hang out with Juan Williams’ son.  Needless to say, that dude liked to party, which made him aces in my book.

At our party, there were always all types at the party.  We didn’t discriminate based on politics, only on your party quotient.  If you brought something to the party, then we wanted you around.  At our spots, politics were not really discussed, so your political identity  normally got checked at the door, with the coats.

Looking at the Juan Williams situation, the terrorists have clearly won.  The inability to express your beliefs is the hallmark of a totalitarian regime.  If we can’t discuss our feelings, then covert racism will rule the day.

Reporting from Washington

As NPR weathered a storm of criticism Thursday for its decision to fire news analyst Juan Williams for his comments about Muslims, Fox News moved aggressively to turn the controversy to its advantage by signing Williams to an expanded role at the cable news network.

Fox News Chief Executive Roger Ailes handed Williams a new three-year contract Thursday morning, in a deal that amounts to nearly $2 million, a considerable bump up from his previous salary, the Tribune Washington Bureau has learned. The Fox News contributor will now appear exclusively and more frequently on the cable news network and have a regular column on FoxNews.com.

“Juan has been a staunch defender of liberal viewpoints since his tenure began at Fox News in 1997,” Ailes said in a statement, adding a jab at NPR: “He’s an honest man whose freedom of speech is protected by Fox News on a daily basis.”

The worst part about this is that it allows FOX to come off as the reasonable party here.  For once, I have to agree with FOX here.  While they are not really fair and balanced reporting in any sense of the phrase, the ability to paint a picture of intolerance to set up another, major point is necessary in discussion.  His beliefs are ones that others share and he was talking about how to combat and recognize that subconscious discrimination.

Meanwhile, conservative leaders lambasted NPR for firing Williams and called for cutting public funding for the media organization. By midafternoon Thursday, more than 4,900 comments had been posted on NPR.org, including many from people who said the media organization was bowing to political correctness and unfairly punishing Williams for expressing his personal opinions.

“In one arrogant move the NPR exposed itself for the leftist thought police they really are,” read one typical post. “After this November elections I hope one of the first things the new Congress does is to defund this poor excuse for public radio.”

NPR serves a public good, a necessary purpose.  I want them to re-examine their hiring practices, I want them to bow less to political correctness, but I want them on the radio.  Just like NPR overreacted to this situation, the public needs to take a step back, take a deep breath and then keep it moving.

The controversy kicked off Monday night when Williams, a Fox News contributor, made an appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor.” In a conversation with host Bill O’Reilly about how fear of terrorism affects perceptions of Muslims, Williams noted that he harbored some anxieties, even as an author of books about the civil rights movement.

“I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot….But when I get on a plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they’re identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous,” Williams said.

He also noted that it was not fair to cast all Muslims as extremists.

On Wednesday, NPR told Williams it was terminating his contract, saying his remarks “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”

The abrupt break came after years in which Williams’ role at Fox News caused internal tension at the public radio organization. Many NPR listeners registered complaints about comments he made on the cable news channel, particularly remarks last year in which he described First Lady Michelle Obama as having “this Stokely Carmichael in a designer dress thing going” and saying she could become “an albatross.”

In response, NPR executives asked Williams to request Fox News not identify him as an NPR analyst when he appeared on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

Dana Davis Rehm, NPR’s senior vice president for communications, said in an interview that Williams’ comments violated internal ethics policies that prohibit NPR journalists from going on other media and expressing “views they would not air in their role as an NPR journalist.” The guidelines also prohibit NPR journalists from participating in programs “that encourage punditry and speculation rather than fact-based analysis.”

Isn’t it a fact that Juan felt that way?  He is analyzing his personal beliefs and how that colors some of the things that he thinks about, and he even claims that approach is wrong.  NPR is really asking him to lie about what he thinks.  If it really is National Public Radio, then the some in the Public think the same things.  Exposure can only help, since it leads to discussion that might help people to recognize the other side and have more tolerance.

Rehm said Williams had been warned several times in the past about making personal comments that violated the policy.

“This wasn’t the first time where we felt Juan crossed the line in terms of what’s permitted for NPR analysts and journalists as a whole,” she said. “We felt we really didn’t have an alternative. And it was not without regret, and it was not a decision that was made lightly by any means. We do appreciate the work he has done.”

Williams told Fox News on Thursday that he was let go over the phone and taken aback that he wasn’t given a chance to defend himself.

“It’s not a bigoted statement,” he told Fox News in an interview the cable news network ran throughout the day. “In fact, in the course of this conversation with Bill O’Reilly, I said we have an obligation as Americans to be careful to protect the constitutional rights of everyone in our country and to make sure that we don’t have any outbreak of bigotry. But that there’s a reality. You cannot ignore what happened on 9/11, and you cannot ignore the connection to Islamic radicalism, and you can’t ignore the fact of what has even recently been said in court with regard to this is the first drop of blood in a Muslim war in America.”

Fox News made the most of the incident, rerunning a package about the controversy throughout the day. Williams was scheduled to appear on “The O’Reilly Factor” Thursday night to further address the issue and will guest host the program Friday.

In the meantime, NPR was slammed by conservative leaders such as Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin, who tweeted, “NPR defends 1st Amendment Right, but will fire u if u exercise it. Juan Williams: u got taste of Left’s hypocrisy, they screwed up firing you.”

NPR, if you really are defenders of the left, why would you give them this ammunition?

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who hosts a show on Fox News, said he now plans to boycott NPR and decline its interview requests.

“NPR has discredited itself as a forum for free speech and a protection of the First Amendment rights of all and has solidified itself as the purveyor of politically correct pabulum and protector of views that lean left,” Huckabee wrote on his blog, adding: “It is time for the taxpayers to start making cuts to federal spending, and I encourage the new Congress to start with NPR.”

NPR receives no direct federal funding for its operations, but between 1% and 3% of its $160-million budget comes from competitive grants awarded by publicly funded entities such as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the National Endowment for the Arts. Since 2009, NPR has received $8 million in competitive grants from the CPB for technology development and journalism initiatives. It also received a one-time grant of $78 million between 2007 and 2009 to upgrade satellite technology.

Local NPR stations receive $90 million in annual appropriations from the CPB that amount to about 10% of their revenue, on average.

Rehm said it was inappropriate for politicians to interject the issue of federal funding into an editorial decision, adding that she hoped the controversy would not affect financial support for public radio. “Stations are in fund-raising season,  so it is unfortunate that this occurred at this time,” she said.

If you read what she wrote, some of these dudes are lying to her to get the box...

My senior thesis was on the likelyhood of another terrorist bombing on US soil.

I wrote it in 1995…funny enough, I got a B+ on the paper, but of course, I didn’t care since it was enough to get out of Dodge (or Ogden, as the case happened to be…) and get my papers…

When I read this story, I found it funny, and thought it was about time that the thoughts of women were exposed.  When I was in SF going to school at San Francisco State, I had the pleasure to call some sexually liberated women my friends.  While I never got to home plate with any of them, there is too many funny experiences that I shared with them.

The first one that comes to mine is a time that one of these ladies has talking about how good her sex game was.  Another guy from a different school ( Berkeley) talked some smack about how good he was.  Alcohol, and ego was a good mix for him.  They go off and explore each other, and my friend comes back.  The question was posed to her, ” Hey, how was it?” to which she replied, ” Well, I was good…”

I nearly wet myself when I hear that.

The freedom that the Duke F@$% thesis, as it is called, was hilarious and liberating.  It’s good to see that we all think alike.

Here was her critieria

But, now the cat is out the bag (literally and figuratively, since Karen got around) she wants to be embarrassed about it.  This is the letter she sent to Deadspin…

As the ashamed author of this slide show, I am horrified at your choice to include all the names that you did. While I cannot stop you from publishing it, this item was never meant to be seen outside of a very small circle of people. Obviously, it has gone viral. However, your inclusion of the real names are causing this awful situation to escalate even further and is actually starting to affect peoples’ lives in ways that go far beyond mere embarrassment. Remove the names immediately, or I will be adding your blog post to the list of things I discuss with my attorney when we meet. If you would like to talk further, please include your number in your response and I will contact you as soon as I can. MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Vikings receiver Randy Moss was arrested Tuesday after being accused of bumping a police traffic officer with his car.

The officer tried to stop Moss from making an illegal turn, and Moss used his car to slowly push the officer along the street, police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said.

Barrington said an assault charge was being considered.

The officer was not seriously hurt, WCCO-TV reported

Where is Ludacris when you need him?

Maybe we should extend an Amber warning to all the skeezers and skanks and scallywags (all better known as hoes, and like method man and redman, I mean it in a good way)

Damn it feels good to see people up on it...but not in a stalkerish peeping tom way...BTW, that is Miss KY 2008...wondering if she will need her States abbreviation after messing around with Randy...?

The New England Patriots completed a trade that sent Pro Bowl WR Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday morning, ESPN, the NFL Network and Boston Herald reported.

The Vikings sent a third-round pick to the Patriots in return for Moss, who becomes a key weapon for Minnesota QB Brett Favre.

The teams had not yet confirmed the trade. But Vikings S Madieu Williams said on Twitter that the deal was “official.”

Moss returns to the team where he spent the first seven years of his career. Moss caught 574 passes for 9,142 yards and 90 TDs from 1998-2004 in Minnesota.

It leaves the Patriots and QB Tom Brady without the stretch-the-field wideout who set an NFL single-season record of 23 receiving TDs in 2007.

I'm mixing up the game! DB's take your vitamins, I'M BAAACCCKKK!

From the Patriots position, they were on the come-up.  First, they got more for the guy then what they paid for.  When he was dealt from the blogs favorite team, the RAIDERS, they only got a 4th round pick, because they were happy to get rid of his contract and his dour attitude. (We still miss what could have been here in Oakland Randy)  It is rare in the NFL that assets acquire more value later in their careers.  Second, they did not have to give him an expensive contract extension.

Moss did not get a contract extension from the Vikings as part of the deal, NFL Network reported.

ESPN reported that Patriots coach Bill Belichick spoke by phone to inform Moss of the trade on Wednesday morning. The network described their conversation as cordial.

For Favre, the trade gives him a serious receiving threat that he has long lobbied to acquire and that he has lacked this season with Sidney Rice injured. Favre, with the Packers in 2007, pushed the team to acquire Moss but lost out to the Patriots.

This is exactly what Father Time, I mean Favre needs to get the offense on a roll.  Soon, they will get Sidney Rice back and that offense will be firing on all cylinders.  You will have AP (not our boy tophatal, but Adrian Peterson) Headache (not the AND1 baller, but Percy Harvin) Moss, and Rice.  Plus, you have Shank Em at TE, so weapons are everywhere.

The receiver will return to New England on Oct. 31, when the Vikings visit Foxborough to the play Patriots (a game that occurs only once every eight years). Fox was already scheduled to broadcast that game nationally at 4:15 p.m. ET.

Moss’ final game in a New England uniform on Monday turned out to be his only in more than three years in which he did not catch a pass. The Herald reported that Moss had asked the Patriots to trade him after Week 1, when he had an outburst about his contract following a win against Cincinnati. Moss later apologized and said he and coach Belichick had cleared the air.

Moss, whose deal expires after the season, said after Week 1 that he wanted to stay with Patriots but added he thought this would be his final year in New England.

Moss is set to appear on Monday Night Football for the second straight week when the Vikings travel to play the New York Jets next week. He’ll likely be matched up again with Jets CBDarrelle Revis, who hasn’t played since tweaking his hamstring on a TD pass he allowed to Moss in Week 2.

Moss will be just second player to appear on MNF back to back. Keith Browner played for the San Francisco 49ers against the New York Giants on Oct. 5, 1987, then played for the Los Angeles Raiders against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 12 (viaESPN and Elias Sports Bureau).

Since the Vikings have already had their bye and the Patriots’ is Sunday, Moss could become the sixth player to play in 17 games if he plays in the rest of the Vikings’ contests.

This is another bonus to fantasy players who got jobbed this week by his unusual lack of effectiveness.  It is the functional equivalent of the “do-over” in backyard sports.  I guarantee that Favre will target him early and often…he is sure to be a “hit”!

Remember the plays Randy? Puff, Puff, PASS!

Hey, Do you still remember the plays Randy? Puff, Puff, PASS! That is your mistake Randy...its legal here in Cali!

SSShhhhhh! I'm busy knocking off my side piece or jumpoff!!!

I guess the life of a professional athlete leaves you with a lot of time on your hands.  You definitely train and go to practice, but once that is done, you are left to your own devices.  If you have you head on straight, you make sure your body can recover from the brutal pounding you take in practice and in games.

Some players take ice baths to help stimulate recovery faster.  Your body is a temple that you want to be able to operate at peak performance.  Jumping out of windows like you are Superman is not going to help.

Posted Sept. 30, 2010 @ 9:45 a.m. ET

aguars WR Kassim Osgood had to jump for his life on Monday night when he leapt out of a second-floor window to escape a armed intruder who attacked him and a 19-year-old Jaguars cheerleader, according to police.

this is just like the window I used to jump from...

Okay…I don’t want to minimize what happened, but a second story window is about ten feet off the ground.  He didn’t jump from a ten story window, just ten feet.  Growing up, I used to have to do that all the time, as I had to sneak into my girlfriends room occasionally without being seen.

The Boston Herald gives some details about the alleged attacker

Julian Armond Bartletto, 20, of the 10500 block of Running Oak Court has been arrested on charges of aggravated battery, false imprisonment, armed robbery, burglary and violation of an injunction, police said. He was booked into the Duval County jail ineligible for bail, according to jail records.

Second issue is that Kassim, you are thirty.  Now, I am not an age NAZI, since love doesn’t measure age in the equation.  But, what are you doing with a girl fresh out of high school?  You are a professional athlete, with thirsty hoes,  groupies are available everywhere.

She is pretty dec Kassim....

Osgood was watching television late Monday night with Mackenzie Rae Putnal when the armed intruder, Putnal’s ex-boyfriend, entered wielding a gun. The intruder pistol-whipped Osgood in the head after pulling Putnal by her hair and hitting her with the gun and his fists.

Putnal escaped to her parents’ home downstairs and grabbed a gun. Putnal exchanged fire with the intruder but shots from both guns missed.

Okay, I will be the first to admit that I want a woman who is down for gangster ish like this.  Having the wherewithal to absorb some beating, then escape to get the piece and fire off some caps trying to hit dude is cause for me to give you dap, Mackenzie.  Even more amazing is in the details.  The Herald continues

By the time it was over, police said the armed intruder had traded gunfire with the woman after sticking a gun to her head, saying, “What did that football player say to his girlfriend, ’It’s a good day to die,’ ” misquoting ex-Florida Gator Chris Rainey’s recent text message to a former girlfriend after an arrest.

The fact that she was mentally tough to take some beating, and the psychological torture that her ex attempted to inflict… Pro Football Weekly picks up the story…

Osgood jammed a chair under the door and jumped out a window to the lawn below. He ran to a neighbor’s house to call police. Osgood sustained minor bruises during the attack and while fleeing.

In the words of Riley Freeman, that is a real b*&$# move…you left your girl.

Kassim, I guess we have to add your name to the list now...

How are you just going to leave her like that?  Plus, you don’t have a cell phone that you could have used to call the police from the house and made sure your jump-off was okay?  I mean, you are leaving her to fire back and defend herself!  But, on the other hand, you are proving that women are equal to men.  No patriarchal rhetoric here!  It’s okay for you to bring home the bacon and fire the guns in the house.  N.O.W. would be proud… The Herald gives a little more light to the story than PFW, since they are more concerned with the fantasy aspect of the story. (I am bet that Osgood is benched or probably chilling on the FA wire in your league)

Mackenzie Rae Putnal and Osgood, 30, were watching television in a second-floor game room just before 11:15 p.m. when a man walked in with his face covered with a plastic bag and pointed a gun at them. Exclaiming that “I can’t believe you’re with that guy,” he pulled Putnal around the room by her hair and hit her with gun and fists before hitting Osgood in the head with the weapon too, the arrest report said.

I wonder what ex was referring to, his age, or the fact that outside of special teams, he is not that good?  Maybe Kassim cost him a victory in fantasy football…the dude was talking ish about Kassim though….

The gunman took the woman’s cell phone and tackled her when she tried to flee, holding the gun to her head as well as Osgood’s and also hitting her dog several times. When ordered to sit on the floor, Putnal escaped down a hall and leaped over the balcony to the floor below, the report said.

The gunman ran after her, so Osgood jammed a chair under the game room door handle and jumped out a window to the lawn below, running to a neighbor’s house to call police. Meanwhile, Bartletto and Putnal confronted each other downstairs with guns. The woman targeted him with her laser sight before both shot at each other and missed.

I gotta again give dap to the parents for having the laser sight, but how do you miss then?  Sometimes a higher force is looking out for fools.  Plus, this is a girl you might want to have in the foxhole.  Notice the story doesn’t mention her bruises or any injury, but we know that Kassim got lumped up?  She jumped out the window too to the ground below.  I wonder do her parents know that a thirty year old man is beating the coochie up of their nineteen year old daughter?

“He’s fine,” Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said. “I’m aware of it. I really can’t comment on that whole deal. He’s doing OK.”

Osgood is in his first year with the Jaguars after signing as a free agent this past offseason. He has made three Pro Bowls as a special-teams player — all with the Chargers — and has a 24-yard TD catch this season.

Maybe this is why teams don’t allow or frown on relationships between players and cheerleaders.  I started this missive as a warning about jump-offs and side pieces.  That message is still an important one to carry on.  Steve McNair got caught up with a young tenderoni (shout out to Bobby Brown) and he had his life ended due to the drama surrounding her.  While the side piece was not the main culprit ( and in fact, she is the hero in the situation) in of the scenario, hanging out with her was.  Listen to Wu-Tang Kassim…protect your neck!

p.s.  This is not a small dude…

Osgood, 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, caught the game-winning touchdown in the Jaguars’ home-opening win against the Denver Broncos. He played seven years for the San Diego Chargers before signing this year with the Jaguars.

Damn, the similarities are evident. Dude has a look in his eyes that say that he really doesn't care about the consequences.

This is some real Cain and Abel ish.  How do you kill your younger brother like that? I know they can be annoying, but to end his life is to say that you have no compassion for family.

Andrew Conley, Indiana teen who allegedly murdered brother, inspired by television show ‘Dexter’

He blamed it on “Dexter.”

A southern Indiana teen, who allegedly strangled his 10-year-old brother to death, said he was inspired by the television serial killer character Dexter.

How is a show about a killer inspiring?  What makes that something that you would want to emulate, especially on your family?

Andrew Conley pleaded guilty on Monday to killing his younger sibling, Conner, last November.

Police said after the gruesome murder, Conley — 17 years old at the time — packed his brother’s body into the trunk of his car and drove to his girlfriend’s house to watch a movie.

This is the cold blooded part.  He loaded the body in the truck like a sack of potatoes.  Then, concerned with his own hedonistic needs, he makes the booty call to snuggle and get some action, while watching a movie.  Now that you have plead guilty, the only snuggling you are going to do is when Bubba is braining your hair, getting you ready for the D@#* down you get in prison.  You seem a little frail.  I hope you are pumping iron.

The teen told police that he identified with Dexter, played by Michael C. Hall, in the Showtime television series about a police blood-spatter analyst who is also a serial killer.

Hall won a Golden Globe for the character, but the show has been criticized for being too violent by the Parents Television Council.

“I felt like I had to,” said Conley, who lives in the small town of Rising Sun.

According to ABC, he compared the urge to kill with a hungry person craving a hamburger, and said he fantasized about killing people since he was in the eighth grade.

This is a Hawkins burger. This is something to fantacize about. the killing? Not so much... Yes, that it Pastrami and a hot link on top as well...See, the things dreams are made of. Dream of killing this gigantic burger are normal and okay

How do you start having fantasies of death of others in the 8th grade?  What were you watching as a kid?

Police said on the morning of Conner’s murder Conley told authorities that he also contemplated killing his sleeping father.

According to The Associated Press, prosecutors plan on seeking a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Conley cannot face the death penalty because he was under 18 when the crime was committed. Defense attorneys are supposed to argue that Conley was insane at the time of the murder.

This isn’t the first murder tied to “Dexter.” In 2008, a 29-year-old Canadian filmmaker, Mark Twitchell, was charged with murdering a man based on a storyline from the show.

Damn, son, get it together.  What you see in the movies and TV does not have to be mimicked.

I can think of a lot of things that can kill.  IF you think that the sentence is just, then the method used to carry out the sentence should be irrelevant.  These people are killers, in some cases, mass murderers.  They didn’t have any sympathy for the victims, why do they deserve ours?

A Shortage of an Important Anesthetic May Be Good News for Some Inmates

By BRIAN BRAIKER

Sept. 20, 2010 —

There has perhaps been no better time to be on death row than right now.

A shortage of a key ingredient of the lethal injection cocktail used by prisons is forcing some states to delay scheduled executions until next year. The crucial component, sodium thiopental — better known as Pentothal — is an anesthetic that is combined with two other drugs that complete the fatal TKO.

Pentothal is produced by only one pharmaceutical company — Hospira — and a spokesman told ABC News that the drug’s active pharmaceutical agent is supplied by a third party and currently unavailable until early 2011.

“We are working to get it back onto the market for our customers as soon as possible,” spokesman Dan Rosenberg wrote in a statement.

Among those customers are most of the 35 states where the death penalty is legal. Last week Kentucky was scheduled to use its last remaining dose of Pentothal in the lethal injection of death row inmate Gregory Wilson, but his execution was postponed for legal reasons.

“We have enough dosage to carry out one of the execution protocols,” said Jennifer Brislin, a spokeswoman of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. “We’ve been trying to secure [more] since at least March and have been unsuccessful.”

Even if his stay comes to an end, Wilson still may be in luck: Kentucky’s Pentothal stash has an expiration date of Oct. 1. Aside from Wilson, there are two other inmates on death row in the state whose fates are held in limbo by the shortage.

Oklahoma was compelled to stay the execution of Jeffrey Matthews last month because of a shortage of Pentothal. The state planned to use a different anesthetic in its place, but lawyers for the inmate successfully argued the new drug was “nothing more than experimental.”

Even among those who are agnostic on the question of whether the death penalty should be legal, there is an awareness that lethal injection can be an extremely painful way to go if not properly — pardon the pun — executed.

Penthothal is the first drug an inmate receives. It is a short-acting rapid-onset barbiturate and general anesthetic that numbs the patient for the double-whammy that follows: a paralyzing agent that shuts down the body’s muscular and respiratory systems, and potassium chloride, which stops the heart, causing death by cardiac arrest.

“It is necessary that the first drug work. It eliminates the pain for the next two drugs,” said Richard Dieter of the Death Penalty Information Center. “Everybody agrees that two-thirds of this process would be excruciating but for the sodium pentothal.”

Dieter, whose organization does not take an ethical stance on the death penalty, stressed that the current shortage of Pentothal is not typical.

“A lot about this issue is absurd,” he said. “That you run out of the drug is like being short of rope for a hanging. That is the reality here.”

Perhaps adding to the absurdity of the situation is the fact that the manufacturer of Pentothal does not condone its use in capital punishment.

“Hospira manufactures this product because it improves or saves lives, and the company markets it solely for use as indicated on the product labeling,” said Rosenberg, the company’s spokesman. “The drug is not indicated for capital punishment, and Hospira does not support its use in this procedure.”

Although Rosenberg said the company has consulted with departments of correction across the country, not one of them reached by ABC News would comment on Hospira’s anti-capital punishment stance.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists similarly declined to comment on the use of Pentothal as an ingredient in lethal injections.

Still, there is one state where it remains an unequivocally unhappy place to be a death row inmate: Texas. Two people are scheduled to be executed by year’s end, and the state apparently has plenty of Pentothal.

“We have the drug in reserve,” said Michelle Lyons, of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, “and therefore have enough for the executions currently scheduled.”

Just give them a hot shot of some leftover heroin or something.  Pump it up so we know there is no chance of coming back.

I'll even spring for the spoon...

Damn, I'm getting lifted off the sauce!

no one gets banned in Vegas…do they? Well, I guess Paris is the first one.

LAS VEGAS (CBS/AP) — Paris Hilton may be forced to spend her time gambling in Atlantic City.
Hilton was banned Wednesday from two Wynn resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, and her boyfriend was dismissed as a nightclub partner following their arrests in a vehicle that police said reeked of marijuana.
Wynn Resorts Ltd. spokeswoman Jennifer Dunne told The Associated Press that Hilton is barred from Wynn Las Vegas and Encore.
Meanwhile, boyfriend Cy Waits was “separated” from his job after less than a week as top managing partner of the Tryst Nightclub at Wynn and XS The Nightclub at Encore, Dunne said in a statement.

Now, your man is fired.  Ask yourself, was it really worth it?  Why was he driving anyway?  You should have a driver or be in a limo if you are going out to get your swerve on.

Waits, his lawyer and a lawyer and publicist for the 29-year-old Hilton did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Smart.  Maybe the only smart thing you have done recently…But, what really, what could you say?  I was smoking weed and I got my boyfriend caught up?

The moves come after Hilton was arrested Friday for investigation of felony cocaine possession. Waits was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Charges have not yet been filed.
Hilton was arrested inside the Wynn resort, where a police lieutenant reported a small plastic bag containing 0.8 grams of cocaine fell into his hand when Hilton reached for a tube of lip balm in a purse.

See Paris, remember wen we saw your weed (that doesn't even look like good weed, which is shameful with your budget) coming out of your purse

See Paris, remember wen we saw your weed (that doesn't even look like good weed, which is shameful with your budget) coming out of your purse

You knew that you have coke in your purse.  Yes, it was only a gram, but why are you fishing in your purse?  You KNEW it was in there and you only ran the risk of exposing the coke.  You only led them to look harder at you, especially when they found the butt of joint you tossed out the window.

Memo to Paris…unless you are in CA or other weed tolerant states and you have proper paperwork, don’t smoke weed…and definitely do not do it in the car…

The New York City-born celebrity socialite is scheduled for arraignment Oct. 27 and would face probation if convicted.
A police report made public Wednesday said the suspected butt of a marijuana cigarette was found in the Cadillac Escalade in which the couple was stopped in front of the Wynn Las Vegas hotel-casino.
Waits, 34, was driving. He had bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol and wobbled as he failed two field sobriety tests, the arresting officer said.
Waits allowed blood to be drawn when he was booked into the Clark County jail in downtown Las Vegas, Officer Bill Cassell said. Results won’t be released until the case reaches court.
Waits spent a night in jail on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence before being freed on $2,000 bail with a Nov. 29 court date.
Dunne said Waits’ twin brother, Jesse Waits, is continuing as general partner of the Wynn resorts’ Tryst and XS clubs.

Well at least his bro will still be able to get freaky in the clubs.

Nice boob job, but you should work on the dye job...no way the drapes match the carpet

I am….

that she was stupid enough to get caught.

I would think that you would have a bagman for that kind of behavior.  You should never be caught with it.  You should not be photographed with it.  But, the drug is good enough that you cannot lay off it’s clutches.

Paris Hilton was arrested on the Las Vegas Strip late Friday after a police motorcycle officer smelled marijuana smoke wafting from a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend, then found a small amount of cocaine in her purse.

A crowd quickly gathered when Hilton and Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits were stopped about 11:30 p.m. PDT Friday in the vehicle near the Wynn Las Vegas resort, police said.

The 29-year-old celebrity socialite was taken into the hotel “to keep her safe” during the initial investigation, police Lt. Wayne Holman said.

Police Officer Marcus Martin said the motorcycle officer pulled the Escalade over on Las Vegas Boulevard after noticing smoke that smelled like marijuana. Police later found a substance in Hilton’s purse that tests showed to be cocaine, Martin said. He didn’t say how much of the drug was found.

This dude doesn’t have a long career in Vegas is he is going to arrest moguls…

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of felony cocaine possession.

Waits, 34, was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Both were booked into the Clark County jail, where Martin said Hilton was released without bail about 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Less than an hour later, Hilton’s Twitter account was updated with a posting that said the actress was in bed watching the television show “Family Guy,” and then that she was going to sleep. It was unclear if the tweets came from her, were posted by time-release or were sent by someone else.

If convicted of the low-grade felony, Hilton would get probation. Any violation of probation would be punishable by one to four years in Nevada state prison.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger declined comment Saturday about the case.

Hilton’s attorney, David Chesnoff, told The Associated Press on Saturday morning that he was still gathering facts about the arrest.

“I caution people not to rush to judgment,” he said.

No, its okay.  I am going to rush to judgement.  She had the weed incident in South Africa during the world cup and she has been seen on camera smoking and she hangs out with cokeheads, so I am going to rush here to judge.  She is a coke head.  Fortunately, she has money, as I bet she would suck %$&@ for money, like Bob Saget.

Damn, be more DISCRETE!

Waits’ lawyer, Richard Schonfeld, said Waits posted $2,000 bail and was expected to be released Saturday.

Court appearance dates for Hilton and Waits were not immediately available.

Schonfeld said he was “troubled by the circumstances” leading to the arrest, but declined to specify his concerns.

“As the case proceeds, a lot of facts are going to come to light that will ultimately lead to exoneration,” Schonfeld said.

Hilton’s manager did not immediately respond early Saturday to telephone calls for comment. Hilton’s publicist, Dawn Miller, did not immediately return an e-mail message.

A spokeswoman for Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas declined immediate comment.

Waits and his twin brother, Jesse, are managing partners of the Tryst Nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas, Drai’s after hours club at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, and XS The Nightclub at Wynn’s Encore resort.

How does this dude not have a bagman?  You run one of the most popular clubs in Vegas?  All you need to do is get home or get to the club BEFORE doing your drugs.  Out in the open is foolish.

Earlier this week, Hilton was in the news when a 31-year-old man allegedly tried to break into her Los Angeles home.

Authorities have said that someone carrying two big knives banged on Hilton’s window Tuesday. She posted a photo of the arrest on Twitter and described it as “scary.” Nathan Lee Parada faces a felony burglary charge.

Hilton was arrested this summer after the Brazil-Netherlands World Cup match in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on suspicion of possession of marijuana. The case was then dropped at a midnight court hearing.

Hilton pleaded no contest in 2007 to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. After spending about 23 days in jail, Hilton told CNN host Larry King that the experience caused her to re-evaluate the role partying played in her life. She said she wanted “to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.”

While most famous for her tabloid exploits and reality TV series “The Simple Life,” Hilton has appeared in the films “Bottoms Up,””The Hottie & the Nottie” and “House of Wax.”
