Maybe this can be a ring that he actually helps to get…just kidding, you are a Laker, so I got your back…
This is a good sign for Laker fans. Ronin’s girl Khloe helped Lamar get another ring, so this has to be good right?
Los Angeles Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic, 26, and tennis star Maria Sharapova, 23, are engaged to be married, the basketball player announced before Thursday night’s 120-99 preseason win over the Golden State Warriors. The proposal — which he characterized as “probably old-school” — came on the one-year anniversary of when they first met at a friend’s barbecue. “I had to do it like a gentleman,” Vujacic said.
“She was happy. The answer was yes, so I think she liked it,” said Vujacic, who the Riverside Press-Enterprise said was returning to the court after three games off due to a concussion.
The point guard made his announcement on a night when Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant were both absent — more spotlight for him and his bride.
Now, if we don’t repeat, I will be blaming YOU! (jk, jk…you should not be the reason we win or lose…) You clearly are the winner here Sasha…
Haters of the Week….Fisher Lied: Two Attention Whoring Utah Jazz fans get their wish…Enjoy the off-season!
May 11, 2010
The first thing to notice is the score. You got it put on you. Your shirts did not work and maybe helped your team to get the holy heck beat out of them. Well, at least you got some attention on TV. That is the only reason to wear those shirts. How did he lie? Because he left your team and your owner let him out of the contract? It was for his daughter. Some of you take that as a shot to Utah the state, when it is a matter of getting the best care. Are the specialists in Utah for the type of retinal cancer his daughter had? No. Are they in LA? Yes. They sent him from NYC to LA. Plus, he was familiar with the Lakers and that is another support unit. The man LOST 7-8 million dollars resigning with the Lakers, when the team was in shambles. Kobe wanted to leave, PAU right in the kisser was toiling in Memphis and the Lake Show was struggling to get into the playoffs. So, your hate was misplaced. But, that is okay, since you got what was coming to you and now you get to deal with Carlos Boozer leaving. (I don’t want to hear that you have Milsap to replace him. Milsap is a nice player, but there is a reason that he was on the bench with Boozer playing. Now, your depth is weakened tremendously and free agents already do not want to come play there. That is part of your deep seeded hatred of yourself, since you already think everyone hates you. We don’t. We just do not understand you. Plus, we don’t see you as a threat, since you never win it all.)
This is not shocking, as Jazz fans have done this before.
This type of behavior was commented on and reported about TWO YEARS ago at Bleacher Report.
But, it makes some sense now. I read the blog of Utah Jazz fan at Jazzbots (maybe Erik can comment since he is a Jazz fan in mourning) and his last paragraph ties it all together.
Jazz fans will boo Derek Fisher for the rest of his career. We will do so because he left Salt Lake for Los Angeles and because we fear he never wanted to be here in the first place. It is a manifestation of our larger frustration with the desire for acceptance and our perceptions of an unbalanced playing field. Perhaps no one can tell Derek Fisher he was wrong for leaving Utah. Just the same, no one can tell Jazz fans they are wrong for rooting against him.
You can boo the man, but when you bring his family into it, then you have crossed the line. Plus, don’t hate on people who don’t want to live in your state. He did it for his family and you have to respect that. He left loot on the table, that HELPED the Jazz. Plus, that year, Fisher did not have his best statistical year. All reasons to be happy that he left.
DWill was the future and Fish would have stunted his growth. Things work out for a reason, but Utah seems to have the small mans complex hard. It is not Fishers fault that you never have won it all.
Now, the shame of it all, the ironic nature of this is that one of the best players on their team, Carlos Boozer, ACTUALLY LIED, and did it to a BLIND MAN, Gordon Gund.
July 14th, 2004
To: Cavaliers Fans
From: Gordon Gund
I know last week’s developments with respect to Carlos Boozer are a source of extreme disappointment for you. I want to assure you that I feel exactly the same way. Like you, I believed in Carlos.
Several days have now gone by. This has helped me to gain perspective. I hope this letter will do the same for you.
First, Jim Paxson has taken a tremendous amount of criticism in the media for what happened. As the team owner, I made the decision not to pick up the option on Carlos’ contract. Any criticism should be directed to me, not to Jim Paxson. I want to be very clear that any fault is mine.
Up until late last week when the trust was broken, I believed in Carlos Boozer, the player, and Carlos Boozer, the person. That is why I tried to do what he said he wanted. We tried to do right by him, by the team and by you in trusting in his repeated insistence that if we showed him respect, he would show respect to us.
Carlos and his agent first approached us in December of 2003, stating his desire for financial security as well as his desire to remain in Cleveland and be a key part of the future of this franchise. He and his agent made it very clear that if we respected them, and provided the security he was looking to gain, he would respect us. Given his record on the court, with the franchise, and in the community, we had every reason to believe his commitment.
Over the course of several months, we had multiple meetings that involved Carlos, his wife and his agent. In our most recent meeting on June 30, Jim Paxson and I told Carlos we had two options. He could play this year on his existing contract and test the market for free agency next year, or we could elect not to exercise the option if we had the understanding with him that as soon as legally possible he would negotiate a contract with us for the maximum we could pay him under league rules.
I told him that as we could not have an agreement at that time given the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, we would have to trust one another’s intentions. I said I define trust as his intention to stay in Cleveland and enter into a long term contract with us as soon as possible under the league rules. In that meeting, we were clear with him that he could make more money in the open market a year from now than we could pay him by redoing his contract this year. I told him he needed to understand that and we did not want him to later think we had taken advantage of him. Jim told him, “There are at least seven teams that have cap space right now who will want to pay you more than we can now. We don’t want to lose you. Why would we not pick up the option?” Carlos said “Because we’d like long term security and we want to stay in Cleveland.” Carlos went on to say that he was happy to be a Cavalier and never indicated any concern with his role on the team or his relationship with Coach Silas.
Carlos, his wife and his agent – all of whom were in that room — knew what our maximum ability would be to pay him. Both Carlos and his wife responded that they wanted financial security now and therefore were anxious to pursue the second option of entering into a long term contract with us as soon as possible and that they would live with any consequences from this decision.
Carlos’ agent then said he wanted to go to another room to talk with his client and his wife alone which they did. When they returned, his agent said he had again explained everything to them so that they understood everything involved and said that their thinking had not changed.
Jim Paxson then told him, “We’d like to begin, as soon as permissible, to negotiate an agreement that we can sign on July 14th.” Carlos responded, “That’s exactly what I want. I want to get this done as quickly as we can.”
Over time Carlos had told Jim and me repeatedly, “If you show respect for me, I will show respect for you.” So, in the June 30 meeting, I reminded him of that and said, “We are all counting on what you said in earlier meetings and again today.” He responded, “That’s right and you can trust me on that.” I asked if we could all trust each other? Carlos, his wife and agent each responded “Yes.” At that point, believing so strongly in Carlos, I said we would not pick up his option. Our intent, as soon as we could do so, was to re-do his contract. The quotes you saw in the media July 1 about his desire to remain here were entirely consistent with what he told us.
In the final analysis, I decided to trust Carlos and show him the respect he asked for. He did not show that trust and respect in return. That’s what happened. I wanted you to hear it directly from me. The decision was mine and I take full responsibility.
We currently have no intention of matching Utah’s offer to Carlos. In order to match it, and within the restrictions of the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, we would need to make player personnel moves of such a magnitude that it would have significant negative impact on our team moving forward. We are continuing to look at every possible option that will allow us to improve our team and continue to build on the tremendous momentum we have experienced in recent years. More than ever, we are committed to bringing a championship to this city. Thank you for your continued support of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Now, lets juxtapose this letter, with the one that the recently deceased owner of the Jazz, Larry Miller thought about Derek Fisher. Gene Wojciechowski rode with him and got his thoughts
I’m going to give Miller the benefit of the doubt and blame the meadowlarks thing on high altitude. By the way, it’s 1:52 local time. The first quarter has got to be winding down, right? We merge onto I-80. Miller will answer anything. It keeps his mind off the game. In no particular order, he thinks: that the Jazz can win this NBA Finals … that Derek Fisher didn’t deceive the Jazz when he asked out of his contract during the offseason — and then signed with the Lakers (Miller and Fisher chatted briefly before Game 3 of this series) … that he absolutely admires Phoenix’s Steve Nash, “but no question he’s on the downside of his career” … that he never would have brought Shaq to the Suns in the middle of a season … and that even with a draft day mulligan, Miller would still take Deron Williams over Chris Paul with the No. 3 overall pick.
So, if the dude that made the deal thinks he didn’t deceive him, why should two Mormon skanks think so? Fanatics indeed… BTW, you at least can continue to watch the Lakers on TNT, ESPN and ABC and dream about what it is like to hold the Larry O’Brien trophy up.
and this isn’t beef to eat…I went over to Bossip.com and saw this story.
Khloe and Lamar’s ex jump off, Claudia Jordan, had an exchange of words at a Hollyweird party and from what we hear, it wasn’t pretty. More details on the flipside. Claudia and Khloe, who roll in the same social circles, found themselves in a face to face, verbal altercation at a friend’s home during a small party. We hear that Khloe went hard on Claudia and damn near made her cry. But we hear that Claudia had it coming to her because she instigated the whole fight. Claudia arrived first and then Khloe came in after her, solo.
They initially tried to ignore each other but all hell broke loose when Claudia was heard saying “I can’t believe he left me for a MAN” and “Oh, well… I guess big girls need love, too!” It wasn’t too long before Khloe heard about Claudia talking behind her back and approached her on it. She told her if she wanted to talk trash about her, Don’t do it behind her back! We hear curses and tempers flared as the two went at it. After a while we heard Claudia disappeared.
Lamar might have married Chyna. But, Khloe has been looking run down and haggard, like all the attention she so desperately carved is catching up with her. I hope the pre-nup allows easy access out when you wake up and discovered you married a man.
Plus, Claudia was funny. I don’t think that Chyna could have come up with jokes like this. It is a product of the inner-city lifestyle she never lived.

Having everything you want and not having to want for anything must be nice. I know its the reason that I continue in the rat race, even though I would rather be at home on the couch. Sometimes, you see stories on the news and you feel motivated to help, or it touches you that something happened. Hey, it is part of the reason why we blog.
When you know the story is truly horrific, can be just the tonic for action. each person should try to do what they can. You don’t have to be a big baller to help, although if you are, you should do more. Shaq would qualify as a big baller. A lot of the things that Shaq or other celebrities/athletes do don’t get the press. We want the salacious details, the embarrassing gaffes that they make. For some, it makes them feel better about their own miserable life when they see someone else down in the dumps. This time, we want to celebrate people doing good, especially on Thanksgiving. Shaq showed how to be thankful for what you have…
Shaq pays for N.C. girl’s funeral
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal paid for the funeral of a 5-year-old North Carolina girl after being moved by national news coverage of the case of Shaniya Davis, who police say was kidnapped and killed.
The Cleveland Cavaliers player was touched by the stories he saw and got in touch with the family to see what he could do to help, a spokeswoman for O’Neal said Thursday. Read the rest of this entry »
Lamar Odom is getting neutered and emasculated for the wedding: HOW NOT to be a player…Where is Bill Bellemy when you need him? (once again AVOID SIDE PIECES! They are bad for you health…)
September 25, 2009
R.I.P. Steve McNair, but this is bigger than the loss of a good man and a better QB. You are getting played bro, and you only have a few more days to come to your senses. We tried to warn you earlier, but you didn’t listen, so we will try this again.
I really don’t care that you are marrying Chyna. That is your business. But, I want you to remember that she has a thing for Black athletes. Maybe she wants to outdo Kim and have a man that actually can win something as a pro. You qualify.
Not to have a prenuptial for a woman that you have only recently starting dating is a recipe for disaster. Do not forget that you are in CA, which means your sh!t is now her sh!t now too. E! Magazine tells the story of how Lamar Odom got emasculated.
Khloé Kardashian has nothing to worry about.
Even at his bachelor party last night, Laker Lamar Odom was on his best behavior with his best bros.
While he decided to cancel the big bash at Les Deux that was originally planned, he opted for a small dinner party at STK with Joe Francis, Rob Kardashian, Scott Disick (aka Kourtney Kardashian‘s baby daddy), fellow Lakers Ron Artest, Sasha Vujacic, Josh Powell and D.J. Mbenga.
Kobe stood you up? It’s because he knows you are making a mistake. For all that everyone says about Kobe, at least he has a family and his wife seems to be in charge of the family while Kobe is ballin outta control.
Lamar’s crew was even joined by some Clippers, including Baron Davis, Marcus Camby and rookie Blake Griffin, who just happened to be having their own party at the club.
Of course they came to the party, because they want to hang out with winners. You had the B team at your celebration.
Joe, Scott and Rob held court at a table in the main dining room, while Lamar mostly mingled with his basketball boys in the bar area.
Despite one pretty partyer who approached him, Lamar showed little interest in any ladies. Girls were even banned from their booths at Guys & Dolls later in the night. Way to regulate!
See? This is what I mean. You had Joe F. ready to throw you a huge blowout with strippers, hookers and…well what else do you want? Kobe and more of the Lakers might have shown up for the party if it was this type of party.
Or since he is Joe Francis of “Girls GOne Wild” maybe a party like this…
The only complaint guests might have?
Lamar was tardy to his own party! Teammate Derek Fisher showed at STK at 9 p.m. and waited for Lamar for an hour before ditching to head home to his wife and kids.
Before he left, though, Fisher said he planned to get Odom a whopper of a wedding present: “How about another [NBA championship] ring!”
After dinner, Lamar, Rob, Scott and some Lakers who stayed headed over to Guys & Dolls, where Ron made a toast to his teammate. The guys drank magnums of Ace of Spades champagne.
Lamar was in great spirits, dancing and taking photos with fans. Before calling it a night, he requested Jay-Z and Beyoncé‘s “Bonnie and Clyde,” perhaps as a tribute to himself and the bride-to-be.
Another reason why I dislike what you are doing Lamar. Really? At least play the damn original with Tupac. The damn song is about gun love and Jay f’ed up the whole song. Listen to the REAL song.
Although there was a fight that broke out while the boys were inside partying, a source says they weren’t involved.
Remember that other fight that went down at Guys, between Jayde Nicole and Joe Francis?
Since Joe threw the party last night, we’re assuming he’s invited to the wedding. And we know Brody’s attending.
The people making the seating chart should have their work cut out for them.

Then you got put on blast by your jump-off. I have Bossip to thank for the letter and funny picture.
IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS, I HAVE BEEN WATCHING A CIRCUS UNFOLD. NOW THAT KHLOE KARDASHIAN HAS ANNOUNCED THE WEDDING, I CAN NO LONGER BE QUIET.
I HAVE BEEN WITH LAMAR FOR YEARS. YES WE F*CK. YES HE PAYS MY BILLS. YES…… I HAVE AN APARTMENT. YES HE HAS BOUGHT ME A CAR. YES I WAS WITH HIM EVEN WHEN HE WAS WITH HIS BABY MAMA. SOME PEOPLE CALL ME A JUMP OFF. I KNOW WE HAVE A CONNECTION. I HAVE NOT TALKED TO HIM IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, BUT HE WILL BE BACK. HE ALWAYS COMES BACK.
Yes, you are a jump-off. You give him the freedom to roam like a free safety on Sunday.
I SEE THAT THE KARDASHIANS HAVE MANIPULATED THIS SITUATION, MADE THIS A FAIRYTALE.
LET ME TELL YOU THE TRUTH.
LAMAR ODOM IS A DOG. HE CANNOT BE FAITHFUL TO ONE WOMAN. PERIOD. HE WILL WAKE UP IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND WILL REALIZE HE HAS F*CKED HIMSELF. LAMAR IS UNSTABLE. LAMAR IS BIPOLAR. LAMAR HAS GIRLS IN EVERY CITY. KHLOE AND HER FAMILY MAY THINK THEY HAVE STRUCK GOLD – BUT WHEN HE TRAVELS DURING THE SEASON, HE WILL F*CK AROUND. HE HAS F*CKED HER FRIENDS BEFORE THEY EVEN MET. I KNOW MY SITUATION AND I DEAL WITH IT, BUT I AM NOT OKAY WITH THE KARDASHIANS PRETENDING HE IS SOMETHING HE IS NOT.
I DO NOT LIKE HIS BABY MAMA, LIZA. BUT I KNOW HE DID HER DIRTY. WHEN HIS SON PASSED AWAY, HE WASN’T WITH HER. HE WAS WITH ME. HE DOESN’T SPEND TIME WITH THE KIDS. DOES NOT PAY CHILD SUPPORT. OBVIOUSLY, HE HAS LOST HIS MIND BECAUSE HE DOES NOT CARE THAT THE KIDS ARE IN SHOCK. WILL NOT ATTEND THEIR OWN DAD’S WEDDING. HE IS RUINING HIS FAMILY AND HIS CHILDREN’S LIVES FOR THIS TRICK NAMED KHLOE. NBA AND NFL D*CK HAS RAN THROUGH THAT. SIX DEGREES OF KHLOE KARDASHIAN. LOOK AT THEIR GOLD DIGGING MOTHER. SHE WHORES OUT HER OWN CHILDREN. I HEAR FROM HIS PEOPLE THAT THERE IS NO PRENUP. WHAT AN IDIOT. I HOPE HE IS BROKE FROM THIS. BETTER BELIEVE I WILL MAKE SURE I CASH OUT BEFORE ALL OF IT IS GONE. HE DID SIGN A HUGE CONTRACT, AFTER ALL.
HIS FAMILY WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM. HE IS TURNING HIS BACK ON HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. PUT IT LIKE THIS, IF YOU ARE BROKE AND BLACK – YOU ARE NO LONGER IN HIS LIFE. TRUE LOVE MY @SS. TAKE NOTE HOW NO BLACK PEOPLE WILL BE THERE. MAYBE A SPRINKLE OF THE ACCEPTABLE ONES THAT KRIS APPROVES OF.
LO, how are you just going to get your business out in the street? Even if the “wedding” is just a stunt for the failing ratings of the show, you are put on front street as a clown. STEP YOUR GAME UP! You are better than this!
Just remember this…not in order, although he was the last one soaking up your fiancees panties….
that was this year…
Then there was Rashad McCants, who more than likely beat the brakes off the box. But, that might have started her desire for basketball players. He is kinda scrubby, so you won’t have to worry about him talking about her on the court.
I am not saying that you have to throw on a chastity belt and quit dating, but you should not have the next man’s seed in your shorts going to the next date, like you are Katelyn Faber…
Don’t take it from me, go here to see the merry-go-round.

Team USA got its redemption with Olympic gold in Beijing in 2008. On Sunday, Team España got its redemption with Eurobasket gold in Katowice, Poland.
After blowing the 2007 Eurobasket gold-medal game to the underdog Russians at home in Madrid, Spain finally won its first Eurobasket title on Sunday, and did so in convincing fashion, beating Serbia 85-63.
Spain thoroughly outplayed Serbia in every facet of the game. The game was never in doubt and the gold medal was essentially wrapped up by halftime. Spain finally ascended to the top of the Euro podium after taking home six silvers and two bronzes all time, including three silvers and a bronze over the past decade.
Speaking of redemption, well, Spanish superstar Pau Gasol’s circle is complete as well. After being roundly criticized for his role in the Lakers’ defeat in the 2008 Finals, Gasol established himself as arguably one of the NBA’s top dozen players in 2008-09, capped off by his skilled performance in L.A.’s championship run through the 2009 Playoffs and Finals. Pau averaged 18.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks while also shooting .600 and doing a fine job defensively against Dwight Howard in the Finals.
Meanwhile, NBA fans may not be as aware that Gasol had unfinished business at the Eurobasket as well, as his disastrous fourth quarter in the 2007 gold-medal game may well have cost Team España the game. As we wrote in 2007
“After such a tremendous Eurobasket for two weeks, Pau Gasol had a nightmare of a final–he just couldn’t connect on his interior shots. Some of that has to be credited to the Russian defense, but Pau just could not get shots to fall. Then he had a 4th quarter he would soon like to have wiped from the records. Pau was 3/8 on FTs and combined that with 3 TOs, including the costly TO with :25 left. All these miscues would have been forgotten if Pau could have knocked down a desperation jumper with :02 left, but his shot just rimmed out. Overall on the night, the Spanish go-to guy was just 4/13 from the floor and 5/12 at the line (14 pts, 14 reb, 3 ast, 3 blk, 5 TO).”
In 2009, Gasol was the dominant player at the Eurobasket, easily winning the tournament MVP for his terrific all-around play over the last two weeks. Pau’s stat line for the tourney: 18.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 1.2 assists, 66 percent from the field, and even four-of-nine from 3-point range. He led the tourney in scoring and blocked shots, and finished second in field goal percentage and rebounds per game.
I am just glad that he suits up for the Lakers….

I thought that you had some issues in judgment with the amount of candy that you eat, but this literally takes the cake…
Insiders tell E! News exclusively that Khloé Kardashian and her NBA star boyfriend Lamar Odom are already considering tying the knot.
Odom, a forward for the L.A. Lakers, and Khloé recently have been “talking about rings,” says a source close to the couple.
So, you have kids through another woman and never got around to marrying the woman who bore you three kids, but some wanna-be reality star throws you some action and you are all ga-ga…?
Members of the Kardashian family are neither confirming nor denying the wedding plans or a date. A rep for both stars have declined to comment. The planned marriage would be the first for Khloé, 25, and Lamar, 29, who had three children with his former longtime girlfriend, Liza Morales. They have a 10-year-old daughter, Destiny, and a 7-year-old son, Lamar Jr. (On June 29, 2006, Odom’s 7-month-old infant son, Jayden, reportedly died from SIDS while sleeping in his crib in New York.)
Sources say Khloé and Odom met over the summer through mutual friends. “They instantly hit it off,” says a source. “It’s like they’ve known each other for years.”
Khloé first confirmed to E! they were dating on Sept. 4. “He’s a great guy,” sister Kim has told us of Khloé’s beau.
While Lamar is her tallest romantic partner (at 6-foot-10), he isn’t Khloé’s first pro athlete beau. Last year, she dated Rashad McCants, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
So, she likes the dark meat, which there is nothing wrong with. She also like basketball players and she clearly upgraded from Rashad, since he is kinda scrubby. But, Lamar, why date Chyna?
Don’t allow her to come between you and getting the job done for the Lakers. That is got to be your first priority….
The worst is that if you do a google search and type in Lamar and Chyna, you get pictures of them, so it’s not just me who thinks this…I am not mad at you, I am just so confused. You live in Los Angeles. There are a LOT of very attractive women around…
You didn’t do so well in your decision….you chose ground beef, when you could have ordered filet…
It’s not too late, you can still bail. The final word is at least get a pre-nuptial agreement and protect your riches…
Look, you have made good choices before
Here is your baby’s mama
So Lamar, the choice is yours. Her family can’t bring you anything more than you already have and you won’t save her scrubby show…
On Wednesday, while I was driving to work, ESPNRadio, along with the rest of the ESPN family had the Jimmy V day, a day marked to stomp out cancer. While I wanted to hear some sports updates, the cause is a great one. The Too Old family has had a few family members and friends who had had a variety of cancers, so finding a cure is right behind world peace on my list of things to hope and wish for. Unlike World Peace, I actually donated 10 dollars to the cause.
Look at Jimmy V running to try to hug someone…
Because of the donation, they continue to hit me up for money. I really don’t mind, since I can tell them NO, or not answer the phone. I should have expected this since the motto that Jimmy Valvano made famous is “Don’t give up, Don’t ever give up…”
This motto is one that we can apply to life as well. When you are in a streak of striking out, that should be a sign that you need to re-double your efforts and work your way out of the slump. Some of our crew need to remember this extremly valuable lesson.
When I was in college, there was this chick named Sarah that I met at the Country Bar in town. (long story short, I wanted to have drinks with some buddies and the bar was close to the hotel…) Once we starting hooking up, she would beg me to come by late nights and spend the night. The desparation routine wore thin, and I stopped coming over as much. The begging and desparation made her less attractive to me, even though she was very attrractive.
We are starting to see the same thing in Lamar Odom. On WCLBasketball, I wrote an open letter to Lamar Odom telling him he should fire his agent. It seems as though he is listening to my advice.
I have learned that Lamar Odom had a phone conversation with Lakers owner Jerry Buss on Thursday. I am told the purpose of the call was to rebuild any bridges that Odom’s agent, Jeff Schwartz may have burned by not responding to the Lakers offer of 3-years $30 million, and 4-years for $36 million. CBS
Sometimes, attempting to play hard to get is the last thing that people want to hear and see. Sometimes, the go-getters actually go and get what they are wanting. With Sarah, it made me freeze her out. Later, I understood what I was loosing and made a power play move to get back in. I did, but it wasn’t the same. Before, it was on lock. After, I was the one having to do some begging. It looks like Lamar is doing the same thing…
Agents are working for you, just like a good wingman. Most of the time, the agent or wingman has great advice for you. You should follow the advice, since you should be on the same page, trying to get and keeping your eyes on the prize. For Lamar, it should be about 1) Winning 2)Family 3)Getting Paid. You have made a grip of loot, you are paid in full.
The issue is when you start really feeling yourself and you begin to believe all the press clippings. Or, you get all introspective and moody and emo, thinking about nobody loves you or respects you or your game. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE I KNOW GET LIKE THIS. Snap OUT of it, I would tell them.
So, Lamar, we respect you. You have unlimited game. You were a key cog in the championship last year. Just get the freaking deal signed!
So, instead of being all emo and silent, get out there and BEG! or at least throw your game so the other person knows you are interested. Lamar, good job in taking the first step. Now, if you just fire your agent, you can keep his 4 percent!

This is a rather late update to my previous post about Lebron the cry-baby, but for those of you who don’t watch sports television or read sports-related news, this may be new. Recently, Lebron was working his summer skills camp for younger players when he was posterized by Xavier rising sophomore Jordan Crawford. This would be, seemingly, innocuous news except for the fact that Lebron immediately had Nike officials confiscate all video evidence of the dunk. I don’t think it bears repeating how pathetic this whole situation is, but I will say that I think it would have been far less of a media storm if they had just let the tape get released for public viewing. Sure, people would take about the King getting punked, but my, in my opinion, it’s much worse to have everyone know you gut punked AND that you were too big of a bitch to let the video hit youtube. All of the “first amendment” and “media censorship” hoo-ha aside, it’s just a real bitch move. Can’t say I’m surprised. And what’s even funnier, is how this interacts with his Nike campaign: “We are all witnesses.” Not this time we weren’t. I guess the only question now is whether Nike will bend to the demands of hoop enthusiasts everywhere and finally leak the vid. According to Darren Rovell of CNBC:
It’s the talk of the sports world.
Jordan Crawford’s dunk over LeBron James at the Cavaliers star’s Skills Academy.
I’ll make the story short for those who somehow haven’t heard it. Crawford, who plays at Xavier, jammed on James, but Nike // [NKE 51.30 0.24 (+0.47%) ]// confiscated the visual evidence, citing rules that stated that taping was off limits.
The story leaked out.
Yesterday’s story was that Nike had the tape.
Today’s story? Fans want to see the tape.
Ten years ago, this would have all gone away. Fans wouldn’t have been able to generate enough noise to pressure Nike into giving the tape up. Now there’s hope in generating buzz on blogs, Facebook and Twitter.
So what will it take for Nike to release this thing?
Even though Nike can’t put any sort of branding on the video because Crawford is still playing his college ball, I still think it would be a good business move to release this. If it gets out there, everyone will know it’s because Nike decided to do it.
Nike execs know that it doesn’t have to have the Swoosh on there to generate buzz. The company is probably the best company out there in terms of working with viral videos. And the truth of the matter is that one kid jamming on LeBron doesn’t hurt Nike or LeBron from a marketability standpoint.
If the tape doesn’t come out, you can read it in a couple ways. One, Nike doesn’t want to set a precedent if their executives are serious about their filming policy. Two, they are unclear of their legal rights to air it — they confiscated it, but they legally might not even have rights to air it. Lastly, if it doesn’t come out, it might mean LeBron is legitimately being sensitive about this moment, which I honestly can’t believe. The guy is the MVP of the NBA, why would he care about something like this?
Did Michael Jordan insist on pulling this video of CEO John Rogers beating him at his camp? Of course not.

This once again proves my point from my last rant abut hating Lebron: he will never be the champion that Jordan is. All you Lebron pole-riders out there, take note. Maybe it’s time to get behind a winner. Kobe has an MVP AND 4 championships. I’ll also make this prediction right now: Lebron won’t do what Kobe did, namely, win a championship playing with Shaq.
