WELLINGTON, New Zealand—A New Zealand teenager who says she auctioned her virginity online for $32,000 to raise tuition money did not break any laws but it might be risky for her to follow through on the deal, police warned Wednesday. The anonymous 19-year-old student offered her virginity to the highest bidder on the Web site http://www.ineed.co.nz under the name “Unigirl,” saying she would use the money to pay for her tuition. She said in a post that more than 30,000 people had viewed her ad and more than 1,200 had made bids before she accepted an offer of more than New Zealand dollars 45,000 ($32,000).Unlike similar New Zealand Web sites, bidding and correspondence between buyers and sellers on the ineed site is private so it is not known what bids Unigirl’s offer received.

Web site owner Ross McKenzie said the site’s policy was that as long as an ad was legal and did not offend the general standards of society, “it was OK.” He confirmed Unigirl was a member on the site.

Prostitution is legal in New Zealand under laws considered more liberal than many countries. Prostitution among consenting adults is allowed in brothels and on the streets, and offering sexual services in print ads and online is also legal.

National police spokesman Jon Neilson said no law appeared to have been breached.

But “we would suggest it’s not a safe practice,” Neilson told The Associated Press. “There are definitely issues of personal safety” in using chat rooms, social dating networks and other Internet sites that can be used to arrange meetings between strangers.Unigirl, in her initial post, described herself as attractive, fit and healthy. She did not post a photograph of herself, and bidders did not appear to have a way of confirming any of the details of her posts.

Unigirl said she was desperate for money to pay university fees.

“I am offering my virginity by tender to the highest bidder as long as all personal safety aspects are observed,” her ad said. “This is my decision made with full awareness of the circumstances and possible consequences.”

The internet has increasingly been used for offering and arranging sex services, and security concerns have quickly followed.

In the United States, 23-year-old former medical student Philip Markoff has pleaded not guilty to killing a masseuse he met on the Craigslist classified advertising site, and raping a stripper and robbing another woman he met in the same way.

Virginity has also been offered for sale online. British newspapers reported last week that a 16-year-old girl in Ireland had offered to sell her virginity on an online classified advertising site but recanted after a reporter posing as a bidder identified himself as from the media. A 22-year-old student in San Diego says she has received bids of up to $3.7 million for her virginity, which is being offered for sale through a brothel in Nevada, CNN reported.

Last year, a Philadelphia woman was charged with promoting prostitution after posting an ad online offering sex for tickets to a World Series baseball game.

Catherine Healy of the New Zealand Prostitutes’ Collective, a group that represents sex workers on health and rights issues, said the New Zealand teenager had entered into sex work by offering herself online.

“The amount of money is absolutely huge—and that puts her under enormous pressure to perform all sorts of acts,” she said.

But Healy said it was also possible that the successful bidder wanted to “save” the teenager and would not ask her to have sex.

She said the teenager would still have the right to refuse to have sex with the bidder if she changed her mind, and that the bidder could claim his money back.

A couple of quick thoughts…

1) This girl is selling herself cheap. Natalie Dylan, a 22 year old student in San Diego auctioned up the box for 3.7 million.

I like how she is leaning down to give you a look of the goods...

Natalie was not even a virgin.  That should be worth more, in my humble opinion.  But on further reflection, some experience is better for the enjoyment.  But, if you are going to pay that much, you should get what you want.

2) What sad guys.  Damn…that is almost all I can say about that.  Who has that kind of scratch to put out for a one time shot?

3) Is it for the night?  For that kind of loot, I should be able to have as many go rounds as I can muster up for the evening.

I would just go here, as it would be a lot cheaper

4) She is good looking, but not that good looking.  The picture that the Daily Mail used is not that flattering.

The nose is not a good look. Some of the money can be used for that...

All the above tells me that for all the disadvantages that woman have like lower pay in the workforce (for equal work) and whole having children thing (you know, the nine month incubation period) that the ability to lead men around by the johnson is a valuable trump card to have.

You don’t see any ads for guys claiming that they are virgins and that they are auctioning up their virginity, because women would not care and it explains the life of a ton of hapless guys.  Notice how the movie 40-year old virgin was about a man and not a woman?
So, unigirl, I hope you take note of this and get more loot…Let’s ride out to

Lauryn Hill – Doo Wop

Don’t be a hard rock, when you truly are a gem…words to live by….

One of my daily stops on the Internet has to be Craigslist.  You can find anything on CL.  As I look around the room, I see the couches we are sitting on from CL, the 70 inch HDTV is from CL (only 150 dollars with a mover, who was also from CL) and the XBOX 360. ( Which we got modded from CL and I buy backups of my games on CL)

There is a lot of love on CL.  People are hustling and trying to get rid of things they don’t need. It’s better than Ebay, because CL only charges for rentals and sales of housing. The problem is that there are people who are trying to ruin CL.  One of the basic ways CL is getting ruined is that there are a lot of scammers trying to get people to send money to foreign countries for cheap electronics.  That is not really going to happen…a fool and his money are soon parted.  Then they post hundreds of items and real people get their post lost among the mass posting of the spammers.  The cycle happens, since real people with real stuff will continue to post to get their items on the first page.

But the problem was even worse than the hassles of spammers…

Cops have Philip Markoff, suspected “Craigslist Killer” of model Julissa Brisman, in custody

Updated Tuesday, April 21st 2009, 9:49 AM

Boston cops on Monday night branded a 22-year-old med student engaged to be married as the “Craigslist Killer” who murdered a pretty New York masseuse and attacked at least two other escorts in hotels.

Philip Markoff, a Boston University student who lives in Quincy, a harborside town 10 miles south of Boston, will be arraigned on murder charges on Tuesday.

Cops said the brainy blond doctor wanna-be, who grew up in upstate Sherrill, N.Y., and went to SUNY Albany for his undergraduate studies, has no rap sheet, but they think he has preyed on sex workers for a while. Police begged other victims to come forward.

This shows that no matter what you have, you still can be a sick bastard.  The dude seemingly was on the right path, had a cute fiancée and was about to be in the money as a doctor.  But “allegedly” could not control his urges.

“He is a predator,” said Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. “There may be other victims out there, and we want to help you.”

Markoff, who was arrested after cops tailed him for several days, will be charged in Boston Municipal Court with the murder of Julissa Brisman.

The slain 26-year-old New Yorker advertised her services on craigslist and was shot in a posh Boston hotel last Tuesday.

Markoff also will be charged with kidnapping and robbery in an attack four days earlier in another luxury Boston hotel on an exotic dancer who advertised online.

Police believe last Thursday’s armed robbery of a Las Vegas hooker in a Rhode Island hotel is also connected.

Markoff, the son of a Syracuse dentist, is engaged to marry Megan McAllister, a fellow med student he met while they were at SUNY Albany. A Web page devoted to their planned wedding later this year recounts how they volunteered together at an area emergency room and enjoyed their first date on Nov. 11, 2005. McAllister could not be reached for comment.

WTF did they expect her to say?  If this is all true, then she is a victim in her own way as well.  She clearly will not be able to finish med school at SUNY, because she will be toxic. The other students will talk and whisper about her and will be a distraction to the other students.

Brisman’s mother was glad to hear there was a break in the case, but she was too distraught to talk.

“Her mother was very pleased, but when she saw the pictures [on TV], she broke down and was just crying. We turned it off. You have no idea how fragile she is,” said family friend Mark Pines. “It is great that they found him, but it’s not going to bring back our girl.”

She should be crying for two reasons.  One is that some animal has taken her beautiful, young daughter off the earth and she will not return. Second, she has to be crying because her daughter and her profession is out there on the net.  All the people she lied to at church, know now that her daughter was this

Cops credited “high-tech leads and old-fashioned shoe leather” for the arrest. Cops stopped Markoff at 4 p.m. Monday as he drove south of Boston on Interstate 95, Davis said. He agreed to come in for questioning and was arrested at headquarters.

The break came hours after police released new security camera photos showing the clean-cut, 6-foot-tall suspect strolling casually to and from the three crime scenes peering into his BlackBerry.

The new pictures were taken last Thursday in the hallway of a Warwick, R.I., Holiday Inn Express, where a prostitute who advertised on Craigslist was tied up and robbed at gunpoint.

Markoff is expected to be charged in that attack, too. Cops say Markoff’s first known attack was April 10, when a 29-year-old woman who advertised as an exotic dancer on craigslist was attacked at Boston’s Westin hotel. She was bound and robbed of her debit card and $800 in cash.

Four days later, Brisman was shot multiple times in a 20th-floor room of the Copley Marriott, apparently because she fought the thief’s attempts to restrain her with plastic handcuffs known as “zip ties.”

In this situation, you have no idea what is going to happen.  Are you going to be raped or killed?  Fighting back is a natural instinct.  Unfortunately,  it got her killed.  How was she to know that the robber only wanted her money.

Residents of the sprawling 800-unit High Point apartment complex where Markoff rented a third-floor flat earlier this year mostly described Markoff, who was on the golf and bowling teams in high school, as an average Joe, but several said there was something not quite right about him.

“The guy was friendly enough. He’d say hello when you saw him and he supposedly had a girlfriend,” said John Uva, who has lived in the building for two years.

“But he was never really around much, and there was a creepy factor to it.”

This is kinda sad. They probably didnt think of him as creepy UNTIL the fact that he was associated with this murder and the robberies.  All I can say is IF he is innocent, his life is over.  Just look at him…
