Nancy Kerrigan’s father put to rest…
January 28, 2010
To make matters worse, her brother may have had a hand in the death of her father, as he is being held for assault. The NY Daily News notes what happened…
Mark Kerrigan – a troubled ex-con living in his parents’ basement – told cops he was angry with his father because he wouldn’t let him use the phone.
Damn dude…how old are you again? That is some real juvenile shit there….
When officers found 70-year-old Daniel Kerrigan passed out in the trashed kitchen, his son told cops “he was faking it.”
The patriarch was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
An apparently intoxicated Mark Kerrigan was “belligerent and combative,” forcing cops to subdue him with pepper spray, a shocking Stoneham (Mass.) Police Department report says.
“I observed blood on the kitchen floor where Daniel Kerrigan had been treated by several people,” the report stated.
“There were three pictures that apparently [had been] knocked off the wall from a struggle. There was a photo on the wall crooked, and a broken piece of phone on the ground.”
Mark Kerrigan, 45, sobbed silently as he pleaded not guilty to assault and battery on an elderly person and was ordered held on $10,000 bail.
He faces more serious charges if an autopsy shows the assault caused his dad’s death.
His court-appointed lawyer described him as an Army vet who suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder.
Fortunately, she has the arms of Tonya Harding to cry into…The Huffington Post reports that Tonya felt bad for Nancy…
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Tonya Harding, the figure skater who was connected to an attack on Kerrigan during the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, has weighed in on today’s news.
Harding’s representative told “The Insider” that “Tonya feels very sad for Nancy and her family and extends her deepest sympathy and condolences to them. Tonya’s beloved dad, Al Harding, passed away this past April, so she understands the grief Nancy and her family are feeling at this difficult time.”
Am I wrong for bring this up?
