Someone played Top Chef with Padma Lakshmi and made a baby!
October 1, 2009
So, Padma is preggo and my man Sal Rushdie is NOT the father. This might be a job for Maury….
(CNN) — “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi is pregnant with her first child, her publicist confirmed to CNN on Thursday.
Padma Lakshmi will be eating for two on Bravo’s “Top Chef.”
Lakshmi, 39, has not identified the father. Her representative told US Weekly that the television personality conceived after a long battle with endometriosis.
“Model, author, and Emmy-nominated Padma Lakshmi confirms that she is carrying her first child after years of struggling with endometriosis, a cause for which she has co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America,” the representative told the magazine.
Endometriosis is a medical condition where the uterus’ lining grows in other areas of the body. The often painful condition can cause women to have irregular bleeding and possible infertility.
Lakshmi’s publicist also told US Weekly that “As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi’s privacy at this time.”
I think that the reason she is asking for privacy is that she may just be a pretty golddigger.
But, who am I to hate? love conquers all, right? I mean dude is rich, so that’s all that matters….She likes old dudes and makes no bones about it. Plus, it’s not like she doesn’t have her own money. (but not billions like her man)
On April 17, 2004, in New York City, Lakshmi married the novelist Salman Rushdie, to whom she was introduced at a party hosted by the journalist and editor Tina Brown. On July 2, 2007, the couple filed for divorce, shortly after Rushdie was granted a knighthood. She is the model for one of the central characters — and love interests — in Rushdie’s novel, Fury (a novel dedicated to her as well).
When questioned about Rushdie’s age (he is only seven years younger than her father) and her long estrangement from her father (whom she has described as “the most sexy, manic, in-shape, lean, tall, handsome man I have ever met”), Lakshmi has said that there may be a correlation: “I think that we are attracted to what we feel we need.” On October 1, 2009 it was announced that Lakshmi is pregnant with her first child.
The description of her father is bordering on the obsessive/repulsive side, but it does tell the story of the guy who more than likely greased up her baking pans and put the bun into the oven. Ted Forstmann is a player.
Theodore J. Forstmann (born 1940) is one of the founding partners of Forstmann Little & Company, a private equity firm, and chairman and CEO of IMG, a leading international talent agency. Forstmann is a graduate of Greenwich Country Day School, Phillips Academy, Yale University and Columbia University Law School with what is now a juris doctorate. At Yale, he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He is usually known as “Ted” (occasionally “Teddy” to friends and family).
Forstmann, an attorney, founded Forstmann Little in 1978 with his brother Nicholas C. Forstmann, who later died of lung cancer, and William Brian Little. Ted Forstmann’s second brother, J. Anthony Forstmann, founded ForstmannLeff.
Forstmann has been on the Forbes 400 List of Richest Americans from 1998 to 2005, as well as 2008.
Look at who he has crushed out. He clearly likes to court beautiful, much younger women. His previous conquests include Liz Hurley and the late Princess Diana. That is a dude who is getting busy.
