“tapped” 1 : to strike lightly especially with a slight sound.-MW

WATCH IT AGAIN!

“As the Broncos began celebrating on their famous blue turf, Hout yelled in Blount’s face and tapped him on the shoulder pad.”

– Sports News

“tapped”.WTF. What the hell is that all about? There was no “tap”. And even if there was the game was over and just touching someone in an angry way is assault. Plus “glass jaw” Hout said something bad enough that his coach had to “tap” him. But only coach didn’t “tap” him he did much worse so he must have said something really wrong. Blount definitely screwed-up but the press is painting the picture that he was not provoked and he just went crazy.  And that is BS.

If anything Blount was just defending himself in a hostile environment. He was calmly walking next to a hostile BSU sideline after the last play of the game when he was physically assaulted and verbally taunted then quickly surrounded by nothing but BSU players. Lots of people would feel threatened in that situation and try to protect themselves.

“Four quarters of getting flustered by the guys in blue finally made Oregon’s LeGarrette Blount snap.

Not only is No. 16 Oregon heading home after getting bullied around by No. 14 Boise State, but the Ducks must wonder what will happen to their punch-throwing running back.

Kellen Moore threw for 197 yards and a touchdown and Boise State pushed around Oregon 19-8 on Thursday night, turning the Broncos’ biggest home game ever into a four-quarter party.

That is until the closing moments when Blount lost his cool and punched Boise State’s Byron Hout, then needed to be restrained by police and team staff to keep from going after fans.” -Rivals

More of the same “getting flustered” and  “lost is cool”.  As if Blount wasn’t provoked?

Blount is then seen once again calmly walking back to the Oregon locker room when a bunch of belligerent BSU fans lash out  and scream some sort of obscenities in his face. How these fans gained that type of close access to a player and were not restrained by security is amazing. The fact that Blount was angry and decided to defend himself against a belligerent crowd when the security didn’t do their job is a natural instinct.

Blount is not innocent. But neither was anyone else involved. Lets just be fair. These are kids lets teach before we discipline.

THANK YOU! I was going to post on this as well, (and I still might) as I am tired of people saying that he “suckerpunched” Hout. Hout hit him in the shoulder, smacking him. The coach stepped in, but it was too late, as “Glass Joe” Hout got serviced….
