E’s song of the day

February 4, 2009

To the crew here at Too Old, every month is Black History Month, but to the haters out there in White America, apparently the bulk of Black History only occured in the month of  February.  That’s a shame, but it at least serves as a justification to celebrate African American culture, albeit just for one twelfth of the year.  I was thinking about what to drop on your ears today, and a special lady friend of mine had suggested some Jazz.  While we all big-up Jazz here at Too Old, I realized that I had also not offered up any Afro Beats for you.  Kind of jazzy but with that “cradle of civilization” feel to it, I decided on this song.  Hopefully it gets you up out of your chair and shakin’ what you got (this jam always makes me want to get my groove on).  Today’s song: Fela Kuti – Water No Get Enemy.  Enjoy…
